Season 4—Summer

While working on building his creativity, Cameron received notice that Monty Turner had passed away. Cameron was surprised to learn that Monty had a small insurance policy in his name. He hadn’t realized that the elder Turner had thought so highly of him. There was another policy for Gary, too. It was certainly more than his own father had left him, so Cameron was really touched.

Evan brought home a friend from school. Her name was Meadow, and she seemed nice. She was an Aquarius, like Evan’s Uncle Cameron. Evan wasn’t sure if he was interested in having a romance with her or not. He was more interested in learning than he was in girls, but every teenage boy still had a huge hormone rush when a cute teenager girl came by his house. Evan rationalized that she would probably at least be a fun person to hang out with since she was an Aquarius, so Evan invited her on an outing with him. They stopped by the grocery store and then went to a dance club before heading home. They had a rockin’ time together, so maybe she was worth getting to know better.

Gary brought home his friend Regina from the force. He’d decided that she was the right woman for him, so he tried a little bit of romance with her. He was rusty. It had been years since he’d tried to woo Evan’s mom, and he hadn’t been with any women since, but Regina responded to his advances all the same.

Seeing Evan with Meadow and Gary with Regina made Cameron feel very lonely. He knew he could call Tara for some cheap woohoo; heck, he’d probably even get another promotion out of it, but that didn’t even interest him anymore. He wanted to make up with Amanda. He loved her, and not even being her friend anymore was tearing Cameron apart. He picked up the phone and dialed her number.

“Hello,” Amanda answered.

“Don’t hang up, it’s me,” Cameron whispered with nothing but pure sorrow in his voice. He waited. She didn’t say anything, but there wasn’t the click of being hung up on either. They’d developed a steady pattern since he’d first apologized to her at her house. He would apologize over and over again, and she would just listen but never say anything. She was still furious with him, of that Cameron was certain. But, the fact that she didn’t kick him out of her house or hang up on him anymore did give him a glimmer of hope that maybe if he just apologized enough times, eventually she would forgive him.

“Amanda, I’m sorry,” he repeated the words he’d said at least a thousand times. “I’ll say it as many times as I have to until you believe me. I’m sorry.” Her silence continued. “Please . . . I miss you so much. Please, will you just come over? You can yell at me the whole time if you want to. Slap me again if it will ease your anger . . . just please . . . I have to see you.”

Cameron’s heart ached with every passing second of silence. It seemed to go on forever. There was a sigh. Finally she replied, “I’ll be right over,” and hung up the phone.

Cameron greeted her with another immediate apology.

“Amanda, I am so sorry. I know I messed up; I messed up everything. What we had was so good, and my mistake took that away from both of us. I was such a fool not to see it. I feel differently about you than I ever have about anyone else.”

She ignored him and blew off his apology. Nothing he said was making any impact.

“Amanda . . . I . . .I’m going to be honest with you . . . I hope you don’t hate me for it.” He was very anxious about this strategy, but simply apologizing didn’t seem to be working. He had to try something, and for once he felt like being truthful was the right things to do. He always lied and made up elaborate cons to convince the women he partied with to do him certain favors. Amanda was the first woman he had ever been himself with. He hadn’t put on an act for her, he’d simply been himself, and she’d seemed to actually like him. Maybe it was possible that if he opened himself and let her know the whole truth, she could accept him the way he was?

“I’ve been a womanizer my entire life. I never felt anything for Tara. I was just using her to try to get promotions. I know how awful that sounds, but it’s the truth. I . . . I was using other women, too. But, I never used you, Amanda. When I first met you I was going to con you. You dressed rich, you talked rich, and you acted rich, but once I found out about your situation . . . I really liked you, and I enjoyed spending time with you. You’re the first person that’s ever made me feel like I don’t have to hide who I am with you. I love you, and I NEVER meant to hurt you, but I know that I did, and for that I am truly, truly sorry.”

“Why should I believe that anything you’re saying is true?” she asked.

Cameron took a quick breath. It was an angry question, but she wasn’t yelling, and she wasn’t giving him the silent treatment anymore. It was the most progress he’d made. Maybe he was on the right track. “Because if I’m lying, that would mean that everything that we had was a lie. Every night we stayed up talking, every kiss, that feeling between us . . . all of that was a lie? I know you don’t believe that. What we had was real, and you know it.”

“I don’t know what to believe anymore,” she whispered.

“You know that you love me. You’re sure that part is real, aren’t you? And, you know that I love you. Come on, Amanda, look into my eyes. Can’t you see it? Can’t you tell that’s real love, not some act I’m putting on to get something out of you? Amanda . . .” he couldn’t help himself, he reached out and caressed her cheek. He felt so vulnerable right then. He longed to hold her in his arms. He just had to touch her. She let his fingers graze along her cheekbone and gently push aside a stray lock of hair before she jerked her head away.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

She looked as though she wanted to burst into tears, hug him, and just forget that she’d ever seen him with Tara, but she wasn’t ready to let go of her anger quite yet. “You just told me that you’re a gigolo that cons money and favors out of women. I’m sure that you’ve gotten pretty good at faking love by now.”

“You’re right, I . . . you deserve better than me. I know I don’t deserve you. I don’t even deserve to have you listen to what I’m saying. I was stupid to think that . . . maybe . . . you could . . . It’s just that, you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, but now I’ve messed that up too, just like I’ve messed up everything else in my life. You should . . . just forget about me, Amanda. Pretend you never met me. You’d be better off if you never had.” He had to turn away. It hurt too much. Tears had started pooling in his eyes, and there was no way that he was going to let her see him cry. He had to get out of there. Maybe it was time to run anyway. He’d been on Emerald Isle too long already.

She reached for his arm and turned him around. He looked away so that she wouldn’t see the tears streaming from his eyes. “Don’t do that. Don’t put yourself down like that. I do love you, Cameron, and I want to forgive you . . .”

“You, you do?” he asked in disbelief.

“It’s just going to take me some time,” she replied. She gently wiped the tears from his eyes and leaned in close. It was like a magic force was pulling them together, and they kissed.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Things suddenly felt much better for Cameron. He kissed her again. He could accept still being in trouble, as long as he knew Amanda still loved him and that she was going to eventually forgive him.

“I’ve missed you,” he breathed into her ear as he continued to hold her close.

“I’ve missed you, too,” she said. “Even though I’ve been furious with you, this whole time I kept wishing that I could just talk things over with my best friend, Cameron. I know that’s silly, but you’re the only one that I feel like I can talk freely to.”

Cameron nodded. He knew exactly how she felt. That’s how he felt about her, too. She was the only one that seemed to just get him, and not judge him for who he was. “Do you think we could pretend that you’re not mad at me, just for tonight? We could just cuddle and talk . . . like we use to.”

“Yeah, I’d like that.”

“You would?” He smiled. He couldn’t believe that she was actually agreeing to spend time with him now. He’d let her see inside his soul, and she was still hanging around. He led her up to his room, and he cuddled her. He finally had her back in his arms.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“You wouldn’t believe how much I’ve missed just having you in my arms,” he whispered. “This just feels . . . right.”

“Yeah,” she whispered with a sigh as she cuddled closer. They held each other in silence for a while, each in their own world of thought. Finally Amanda asked, “Are you going to be able to give them up?”

Cameron’s heart started pounding. “I thought . . . I thought we weren’t going to talk about that right now,” he could barely get the words out around the painful lump in his throat.

“I need to know, Cameron. I’m really close to giving my heart back to you, but I need to know if you’re going to break it again.”

Cameron’s jaw trembled. Had she just said that she was willing to take him back? Everything else seemed inconsequential compared to regaining her love. “I’ll give them up for you, Amanda. I can’t . . . I can’t change who I am . . . you have to understand that. If we’re going to do this you have to take me as I am, broken and all. But, I promise I’ll stop seeing other women if it will keep you in my arms.”

“I love you, Cameron, and I want to be with you. I know who you are deep down, and I love you just the way you are, but I don’t think I could take seeing you with another woman again.”

Cameron swallowed. It was against his nature to make a commitment, but he’d do anything for Amanda’s love. “I promise I won’t go on a date or woohoo with any other women anymore. I promise. Can I still con women at parties, though? That’s really my dream job.”

“As long as you don’t woohoo or take anyone home, I can accept it,” she agreed. He smiled. She did understand him.

“I want to start another rule with us. From now on, no more lies. You tell me everything, and I’ll be completely honest with you. I mean it Cameron. If you slip up . . . which, you probably will . . . I want you to tell me. If I ask you a question, I want an honest answer. I have to be able to trust you.”

“I promise, Amanda,” he pledged. He’d never been completely honest with anybody, but if Amanda was willing to accept him the way he was, he’d make and do his best to keep the promises she demanded of him.

**

Evan invited Meadow over after school the next day. She came over most afternoons, and Evan was starting to get a crush on her. She was a kinda cute girl. They were talking on the patio when Evan was struck with the urge to kiss her. It was his first kiss, so it was a little awkward, but Evan had witnessed enough kisses to know what to do.

Evan suddenly had visions of putting the moves on Meadow. Romance wasn’t that important to him, but he was a teenager, and Meadow was a hot girl that was kissing him. Nature took over. “So, ummm, you wanna go hang out upstairs? We could use my Uncle Cam’s room. He’s at work right now.”

Meadow agreed and followed him upstairs. Cameron had a very cushy double bed. Evan convinced her to relax on it with him. “So, you want to cuddle?” he asked her.

“No,” she said flatly. He was obviously disappointed. “I know what cuddling leads to, Evan,” she said with a laugh.

“Ohh,” he said. He hadn’t thought of what he would do if she wasn’t interested. “So, umm, we could talk.”

“Yeah,” she said.

He struggled as he tried to think of something they could talk about. “Nice weather today,” he tried.

“Uhhh, yeah,” she giggled. They both fell silent, simply staring off into space next to each other.

Evan was rather frustrated. He was about to suggest they go back downstairs when Cameron got home from work. He opened the door and just about fell over from shock.

“Gotta go,” Meadow said with a laugh as she flew out the door.

Evan was horribly embarrassed. He didn’t know how he’d lost track of time. His face turned blood red as he realized his beloved Uncle had just seen him crash and burn with Meadow.

“Were you just going to make out with her?” Cameron asked with surprise. He knew Evan was a teen, but that had happened faster than he had expected.

“I was going to, but she turned me down for even cuddling,” Evan admitted. He was rather ashamed of himself. “Sorry I was using your bed. Are you mad?”

“Mad . . . isn’t really the right word, Evan. No, I’m not mad. But, I’m concerned. Look . . . I think maybe I’ve set a bad example for you. Didn’t . . . didn’t Gary give you the whole birds and bees speech?”

Evan shook his head. He didn’t think he could talk to his dad about that sort of thing.

“Crap,” Cameron cursed his brother for not realizing that even young teens needed to know how to deal with their blossoming desires. He certainly wasn’t the one to explain this to Evan; yet, as things often went, here he was, the only one there to deal with it. “So, just because you’ve seen me bring a lot of women up here doesn’t mean that’s right for you, Evan. You’re still a teen, and beds are way off limits from now until you’re at least in college, got it? Besides, I thought you were focusing on learning right now anyway.”

“Yeah, sorry, Uncle Cam. It’s just, when I’m around Meadow . . . I want . . .”

“Make out with her on the couch, Ev. That’s much more appropriate.”

“She’ll just turn me down anyway,” Ev said, full of disappointment.

“Oh, don’t worry, I’ll teach you some moves she won’t be able to resist, if you PROMISE me to keep it on the couch.”

Cameron gave Evan some advice that he put to use right after school the next day. Cameron knew what he was talking about, and sure enough, Meadow couldn’t keep her hands off of Evan.

Gary had some good news. He’d been promoted to the chief of police. It was a job he’d had his eyes on for some time, and it came with a pretty hefty bonus check. Cameron received a promotion that day as well. Gary celebrated by taking Cameron, Regina, and a couple of guys from the force out for a drink at the local bar most of the policemen frequented.

Although Amanda and Cameron had made up, Jan was still furious with Cameron. Apparently she thought that stealing the newspaper and knocking over the garbage can was the best way to get even.

But, you know you are made for each other when you scold in unison.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Cameron’s promotion to Freelance Web Designer had come at the perfect time. He’d wanted money to buy something very special, but he didn’t really have much money of his own. He loved his career as a slacker, but the pay wasn’t that great. Sometimes he talked women out of some pretty sweet gifts, but this time he needed cold hard cash. The sign-on bonus he received for his new job was just enough to buy the item he’d been to the jewelry store ten times to stare at.

“Oh my God, Cameron, is that an engagement ring?” Amanda gasped.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Is that a no?” Cameron asked, his voice drowning in the rejection. He’d done this for Amanda, thinking that was what she wanted, but of course . . . of course she wouldn’t want to marry him. She’d come to her senses and realized how worthless he was.

“Ohhh, Cameron, are you sure? I mean, are you really sure you want to commit to me like that?” she asked as she slipped the ring onto her finger.

“Is that a yes?”

“Of course it’s a yes!” she exclaimed as she flung herself into his arms. “I love you, Cameron.”

Amanda immediately rushed over to tell the other important people in her life.

Gary and Regina had been dating for a long time, but finally, he had made her fall in love with him.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

So, it was his turn to pop the question.

“Whoa, Gary, that’s a full carat isn’t it? Wow, it really sparkles. What clarity level is that?” Regina asked as she admired the ring in the sunlight.

“Do you like it?” Gary asked. She nodded. It was a very expensive and classy ring, and she did love Gary. They were well suited for each other.

“So, now that we’re engaged, I think you should meet my son, Evan,” Gary suggested.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

He wasn’t sure how it had happened. He’d started looking for a woman to be Evan’s new mom. How had he dated Regina for so long without even introducing her to his son? He knew Regina was agreeable to children. They’d talked about having kids of their own someday, but he really should have involved Evan earlier in their relationship.

“Evan, this is my fiancé, Regina,” Gary introduced them.

“Fi . . . fiancé?” Evan gaped. He’d seen Regina around, but he’d had no idea that his dad was seriously dating this woman. Evan suddenly realized how rude he was being, standing there staring at her with his mouth gaping open. He’d been raised to be politer than that. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Regina,” Evan said before shaking her hand.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Evan tried to talk to her to get to know her a little better. Unfortunately, she didn’t seem very nice and she wasn’t interested in anything he wanted to talk about. Evan was suddenly very worried. His dad was going to marry this woman, and she didn’t seem nice or understanding at all. What if she turned Gary against him? What if she moved in and was mean to him all of the time? What if she tried to make him move out of the house? He wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t want him around at all. Evan was scared of all of these possibilities, but his dad seemed so happy with Regina. He didn’t want to ruin his dad’s happiness.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Evan was even more worried when he learned that it was going to be an immediate wedding. Regina told Gary that she had quite a wedding dowry saved up and that she already had all of the details planned. It only took a few phone calls and everything was set up for the party.

Regina posed for her formal bridal portraits

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

while Gary asked Cameron to be his best man. It meant a lot to Cameron. He had never been close to his brother when they were kids. They had been at odds as teens. Yes, they had been living together for few years, but now Cameron realized that Gary had finally accepted him as he was. They were brothers, and for the first time in their lives, that actually meant something.

Cameron joined Evan and Gary on the groom’s side of the arch while the ladies waited to walk down the aisle.

Regina had asked Amanda and Alyssa to be her bridesmaids, just so the wedding party would looked balanced.

Amanda and Alyssa walked down the aisle.

And then it was time for “Here Comes the Bride.”

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Gary was relieved when Regina joined him at the arch. He wouldn’t be stood up at the alter. He knew that was an unlikely fear, but he’d been worried about it anyway. Having Regina at his side just felt right. He’d have a full family again in a few moments.

“Regina, with this ring, I thee wed,” Gary gave his vows.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Regina gave Gary her promises as well.

The crowd was pleased at the ceremony, but there was one very prominent missing guest. Amanda, the maid of honor, wasn’t even watching the ceremony.

They didn’t have a minister, but they followed a traditional ceremony. It was time to kiss the bride.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And here’s the happily married couple.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Immediately after the ceremony, Cameron slipped out to find out where Amanda was. He was surprised to find her in his room crying.

“Amanda, what’s wrong?” he asked.

“We’re . . . we’re never going to get married, are we? You asked me to be your fiancé, but you have no intentions of following through with it, do you? Seeing Gary and Regina get married made me realize that. We were engaged before them, and they’re already married, Cameron.” She was sobbing.

Cameron put his arms around her. “Amanda, I am going to marry you. I want you to be my wife more than anything. I thought knowing you, though, that you would want to take your time and plan the perfect wedding party. Was I wrong about that?” Cameron asked.

“No,” Amanda cried. “You’re right. I’ll need to give my friends enough notice so they can all make it to the wedding. I just . . . I guess I’m jealous that Gary and Regina are already husband and wife.” She put her head on Cameron’s shoulder and relaxed a little as he petted her hair.

“We will be, too, soon . . . soon, baby,” he comforted. “Come on. I know you love parties. Let’s go have a good time.”

Amanda and Cameron made it out just in time to catch the couple’s first dance.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The wedding party was asked to join in the dancing for the next song. Amanda and Cameron danced close. “That’s going to be us real soon,” Cameron whispered to the love of his life.

“I love you,” she said with a smile.

Finally, it was party time. Everyone got down to the beat.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The party went well into the night.

The night ended with the cutting of the cake and a few toasts

before it was time to make a break for the honeymoon.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Evan was stuck cleaning up the mess. Regina had told him that she wanted the house spotless when she came home from the honeymoon. She and Gary were both very neat sims, and they didn’t want to come home to a house full of trash and flies. The party trash was disgusting. Evan was exhausted and didn’t feel up to cleaning it up. There were even roaches getting into the trash. He certainly didn’t want to deal with those himself, but he knew Regina would freak out if she saw them, and he didn’t want to start things out on his stepmothers bad side.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Evan wasn’t feeling so good. He started coughing as he finished picking up the trash right before the newlyweds got home. His dad came and gave him a hug when he got out of the limo. At least his dad still loved him, for the time being anyway. But Gary started coughing right after the hug and Regina was only a few minutes behind. They were all sick with the flu.

It was completely against Gary and Regina’s natures to just lie still in bed. They had planned to have a romantic night together and then maybe spend the next day working out together. They followed doctor’s orders and stayed in the bed, though.

Evan was having a tougher time. The tightness in his chest was killing him. He tried to control his cough so that he wouldn’t keep his dad and Regina up while they were trying to rest, but holding the cough in just made it hurt more.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

He had a fever and chills, and he just couldn’t keep himself comfortable. He was restless and tired of lying in the bed worrying, so he finally gave up and went down to the couch. Cameron was down there already. He wanted to talk to his Uncle Cam about some of his worries, but he didn’t want to get him sick, so he was careful to sit on the opposite side of the couch.

“How are you feeling?” Cameron asked.

“Like crap,” Evan admitted.

“You just keep your germs over there then,” Cameron said. “No way am I getting the flu. I’ve been invited to a really happening party tonight, and I can’t afford to be sick.” He said it with a laugh, but Evan knew he was only half joking.

Cameron flipped on the television, and Evan tried to clear his mind and stop worrying. He was on a comfy couch with his favorite person to talk to. Uncle Cam had even put the channel on Evan’s favorite, the dance channel, for him. Still he felt miserable. He was beginning to realize that his misery might be more emotional than just physical.

“Uncle Cam,” he whispered.

“Yeah, bud?” Cameron responded.

“What do you . . . what do you think of Regina?”

Cameron lowered the volume on the television so he could hear Evan better. “She makes your dad pretty happy.”

“She isn’t very nice,” Evan whispered. He felt guilty for saying it, but it was true.

“She’s a lot like your dad—neat, active, a tad grumpy, into money—that doesn’t make her a bad person.”

Evan shrugged. He did love and admire his dad. Maybe he should like Regina more? Maybe he should be more like them? “Do you think . . . she wants to be a family . . . including me?” Evan dared ask.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Ev,” Cameron sighed. He suddenly realized Evan’s true concern. “Your dad wouldn’t have married someone that didn’t want to have you as part of the family.”

“He didn’t even introduce me to her until right before the wedding. What if she doesn’t want me around?” Evan asked. Pleasing his father meant everything to Evan. He tried to be perfect at everything for his dad. But, what if Regina convinced Gary that Evan just wasn’t good enough? What if they decided to have their own little perfect kids? What if she kicked him out of the house or just yelled at him all the time? Evan was so scared. “I know I’m not the kid her and dad want me to be, but I try . . . I try so hard, Uncle Cam. Do you think they’re going to let me stay?”

“Ev,” Cameron had to fight every instinct in him not to hug his sobbing nephew. But, he knew that if he did, he’d get the flu. “Evan, you are a great kid just the way you are. You don’t have to try to change yourself. Your dad loves you. I’ve talked to him. He loves you so much just the way you are. And, so do I. Regina is going to accept you. I know your dad wouldn’t have married her if she wasn’t okay with being a good stepmom to you. She maybe a little grumpy and anal retentive like your dad, but that does not mean that she doesn’t want you to be a part of the family. This must be a really scary time for you, but its going to be okay, Evan. Trust me, okay, it’s going to be okay.”

Evan nodded. He trusted his Uncle Cam. If he said it was going to be okay, then he would believe him.

“It’s time for me to leave for that party. Are you going to be okay, Evan?” Cameron asked. He REALLY wanted to go to the party, but in his heart he knew that if Evan said he needed him, he would give it up and stay for him.

“Yeah, I’m going to try and go back to sleep,” he whispered. He knew he needed the rest, and maybe his Uncle Cam’s reassuring words would drive the nightmares away.

That night Cameron reached his lifelong dream. He was officially a professional party guest. All he had to do was show up and people were handing him valuable presents and money left and right. He was getting paid just to party. He had Amanda, he had his parties, and he had a great family. Everything was perfect at that one moment.

When Cameron came home he was informed that the whole family was healthy again. He was finally able to give Evan that hug that he really, really needed.

Author’s Notes

When I started this I had not intention of letting Cameron get caught cheating, but I’m really glad he did now. The dialogue from that part of the story is heavily based on the dialogue from the real soap opera “Another World.” (It was my favorite soap opera moment, circa 1997).

Having the wedding was really fun. I finally got to use some of the stuff from the Celebration Stuff pack. I HATE the dresses in that pack and had to download some CC ones, which is so frustrating when you bought a wedding pack. The CC dresses are mostly from prenump sims and some from TSR. Anyway, the Celebration Stuff wedding items were actually quite nice and fun to play with, so I am glad I bought the pack after all.

I think/hope that Gary and Regina will have some really cute kids in the future.

Season 4—Summer

Will and Klaus were still having problems balancing it all. They were up at 3 AM doing their homework. It was hard to keep up with the house, a job for Klaus, school, friends, and everything. Not only did that not have their parents to guide them, but they had to shoulder a lot of adult responsibilities on their own.

Will really would have lost it if he’d known what Nicholas was spending part of their money on. Nich called a local gypsy and bought some love potion off of her. He already had 7 girlfriends, but he wasn’t happy stopping there. He wanted 20, and if he was going to get there sometime in his lifetime, he needed some help.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The potion had the desired affect, and he was able to add a few loves to his list.

The boys arrived home from school shortly thereafter. Will immediately went to the phone and invited his best friend Amaya over, but then he was faced with a dilemma. You see, he’d met the perfect guy for Amaya. His name was Philip Windsor; and he was nice, funny, and blond. All of those were things that Amaya looked for in a potential romance, but more than that, Philip loved dating. That fit in great with Amaya’s desires for romance. Will knew they were made for each other, but the problem was that he still had a major crush on Amaya. Will knew that Shenene was a much better match for him, but he still had feelings for Amaya. She had been his first crush, and sometimes his heart still skipped a beat when he thought about the dreams he’d had for the two of them. Seeing her with another man would break his heart, even if he was the one setting them up. Will stared at the phone that he was still holding in his hand and dialed Philip’s number. He wanted Amaya to be happy, like he would be happy with Shenene.

When they arrived, Will introduced Amaya to Philip, and as expected, they hit it off great, even if it was hard for Will to watch them together.

Grandpa Monty had started writing a novel. He wanted money, and he had heard that you could make a lot of money from selling novels. He went to work at writing and quickly maxed out his creativity skills.

After Amaya and Philip left, Will was feeling very lonely. Seeing them laugh together had hurt as much as Will had expected. He called Shenene and invited her over. He had to remind himself that there was someone that was romantically interested in him just the way he was, family sim and all. Shenene was a wonderful and sweet girl, even if she wasn’t quite as attractive as Amaya. They played some chess and talked. They even hugged. Will really wanted to kiss her. He wanted someone to love him, and he was pretty sure that Shenene was the girl, but there were still doubts and fears in his mind. What if she didn’t want to kiss him? What if she told him he was moving too fast? What if he went to kiss her and she just flat out rejected him and stormed off? Will was sure that would simply crush him. Still, his hormones were telling him to kiss her. So, he leaned into her. He figured that if she wanted to kiss him, she would initiate the kiss herself. If she didn’t want to kiss him, then when he leaned in close and paused for a minute, if she didn’t respond, he’d just hug her again and swallow his hurt pride.

Shenene was the girl for him, and she didn’t keep him waiting. She puckered up and they both enjoyed their first kiss. She hugged him afterward. “You were really hesitant to start that weren’t you?” she asked.

“I was afraid you wouldn’t want me,” Will whispered. It was hard to talk so openly about his fears. He didn’t think he could explain to her why he was so afraid of rejection.

“You don’t have to be scared with me, Will. I really like you,” she said.

The next day, Monty learned that his new novel was selling like crazy. Monty was pleased until he found out that his royalties from it were only 2,500 simoleons.

It was Saturday, finally. The family had their traditional breakfast and spent some time together before they all went to work on their skill building and chores. Will invited Shenene over and they cuddled on the couch while watching television.

He’d been contemplating what she’d said the night before. It seemed like a clear invitation to take their relationship further. Will really wanted to ask her to go steady with him, but he was still terrified of asking her despite her reassurances. He knew she wanted to be romantically involved with him, but he wanted to be her only boyfriend. She was a pleasure sim; some pleasure sims could happily settle down with just one guy while others craved dating lots of men. What if she rejected him and told him that she wanted to go out with lots of guys? Will began hyperventilating as he thought about asking her. He could practically see her laughing at him for even thinking that she might want to be with him and him alone. Will broke out into a cold sweat as he thought about it more and more.

“Will, what’s wrong?” she asked as she noticed his sudden pallor and odd breathing.

His previous experiences with rejection and abandonment flashed through his mind. He remembered exactly what it felt like when his Grandfather Nicholas had refused to help him take care of Daniel and Klaus; he remembered the embarrassment he felt when Amaya told him that she just wanted to be friends. He didn’t think Shenene was like that. She’d said he didn’t have to be afraid with her, but what if she did reject him too? Will knew he’d be broken beyond healing if yet another person he’d tried to reach out to rejected him. He felt like he was going to throw up, but he had to get the words out of his mouth; he had to know . . . one way or the other, he had to know. “Will you . . . will you go steady with me?”

She smiled in surprise. “Of course, Will. I haven’t even thought about being with another guy since I met you.”

“I love you,” he whispered. He felt . . . content. It wasn’t a feeling he was use to.

“I love you, too,” she replied. “You’re a wonderful man, Will Turner, and I’m happy and proud to be your girl.”

Grandpa Monty and Grandfather Nicholas returned home from work. Grandpa Monty unexpectedly clutched his chest and called up to the house for one of the boys to call an ambulance. He was pretty sure that he was having a heart attack.

He fought to hang on at first as he could feel death taking him, but then he saw something, and it was beautiful. There were hula girls, and they were taking him to a better place. Grandpa Monty gave up his struggle and happily passed on.

Will began to cry as the rest of the Turner family waved goodbye to Monty. After a very brief moment of mourning, most of the Turners began to go about their business as usual, except for Will. Will couldn’t stop crying. He just stood at the spot Monty had died at and sobbed.

Will had finally started to move on from his parent’s death. He’d found an adult he could at least talk to a little in Monty. He’d never been able to completely open up to his Grandpa, but when he’d really, desperately needed someone, Monty had been there. He was the only thing close to a mentor he’d had in his life. Now he was ripped away from him, too. Will was completely overcome with grief. He could do nothing besides stand there and cry.

“Will, honey,” Shenene finally took notice of just how distraught Will was. “It was his time. It’s not sad when it’s his time to go. He’s in a better place now.”

Will just continued to sob hysterically. “But, I still need him,” he dared whisper to her.

“Ohh, Will,” she said with genuine concern. She caressed his face gently. She knew him well enough now that she quickly recognized what part of the problem was. “You’re tired and starving, aren’t you?”

He nodded slowly. His recurring nightmares about his parents had kept him up again the night before, and he’d been so worried about asking her to be his girl, that he’d completely forgotten to eat lunch.

“No wonder it’s hard for you to deal with this right now. Why don’t you go inside and cook dinner? You’ll feel better when you aren’t starving anymore.” He didn’t move. “What had you planned to cook tonight?” she gently moved him towards the house.

“Spa-spaghetti,” he managed to get out between sobs.

“Good, why don’t we have some spaghetti? We can have a nice family dinner. You always feel better when you get to sit and eat with Klaus and Daniel, don’t you? We’ll get some food in you, and you’ll get to spend some time with me and your brothers, and then it won’t be as bad. Do you feel up to cooking it, or do you want me to try?” she asked.

“I can . . . I can do it,” he whispered. Klaus and Daniel probably were hungry, and she was right that he was starving. He didn’t feel up to cooking, but he needed to provide nourishment for the family. That was his job. And besides, Shenene didn’t have any cooking skills, and they couldn’t afford to waste food.

He started to prep the spaghetti for cooking, but he kept having to stop for random crying fits. He just couldn’t control it. He felt so miserable, so alone.

Klaus was on the phone. When he hung up, he had a huge announcement. “Sweet! Grandpa Monty had a huge insurance policy. He had one in all of our names, so he left us a ton of money!” He was very happy about it. Daniel and Grandfather Nicholas seemed pleased, too.

But, the news only made Will cry harder. Grandpa Monty had thought of him. He’d managed to provide for him in a way that even his parents had forgotten. It really touched Will deep inside to know that his Grandpa had loved him.

Finally, Will managed to make the spaghetti. Daniel, Klaus, and Shenene sat down with him and had a family meal. Shenene was right, he didn’t feel quite as hysterical now that he wasn’t starving, but he still felt miserable. The social contact with his brothers and his girlfriend helped some, but Will was still very depressed. He missed Grandpa Monty. Yet again, he had no one to turn to for help or advice in his life.

“Will, honey, I’ve got to get back to the dorms. It’s past curfew,” Shenene explained. Her parents lived off the island. They had sent her to boarding school at Emerald Isle Academy, so she lived in the dorms on the island and never really saw her parents. “Are you going to be okay, sweetheart, or do you want me to try to spend the night without getting caught?”

“I’ll be okay,” Will whispered. It was a lie. He was no where near okay, but he didn’t want her to risk getting into trouble for him.

The next day was Will’s high school graduation. He didn’t even bother going to the ceremony. What was the point if there was no one there to cheer when they called your name? Instead, he planted a legacy apple tree in his parents’ and Monty’s memory. He did call and talk to Shenene that morning, but for once, it didn’t make him feel any better.

Will found himself crying in the graveyard behind their house. After his parents had died, Will had frequently come out to the graveyard to cry and talk things out with their headstones, but he hadn’t had to do it in years. Still, at the moment, standing there and crying was the only thing he felt capable of doing.

The tears trickled down his cheeks as she stood there in silence staring at the headstones. It was a long time before he could find his voice. “Mom, Dad, Grandpa Monty, I graduated from high school today.” His voice was extremely soft and it cracked on every other word, but he needed to tell them. “I . . . I wish that one of you could have been there . . .”

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

He moved over to Grandpa Monty’s grave and cried in silence some more. He wasn’t really angry at him. Just like his parents, it wasn’t Monty’s fault that he had died. Still, Will couldn’t help but demanding “Why did you have to die?” Before Monty’s death, Will had planned to get a job during the day and go to community college at night. It wasn’t really going to college like he’d always dreamed of, but at least he might have eventually been able to get a degree. Now, without Monty’s income, that wasn’t a possibility anymore.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Will continued to cry. Finally he got to the deepest pain. “Shenene’s parents are sending her to Academie Le Tour!” Will knew he couldn’t ask her to remain faithful to him until she graduated. That wasn’t fair to her, and it would only set himself up for rejection. It was tearing him apart to know that he was going to lose her love, too. In one day he had gone from having a girlfriend and dreams of getting a degree to having nothing.

“I don’t mind the responsibility. I don’t mind working hard. I know I have to provide for Klaus and Daniel, but . . . do I have to give up on all of my dreams? All of them? I want to be with Shenene. I want to go to college,” he cried.

“We think you should go,” a voice said from behind him.

Will didn’t even bother wiping the tears from his eyes this time. His brothers obviously had heard how hard he was crying and had heard what he said. “I can’t,” he whispered between sobs.

“Why not?” Daniel asked.

“You know why not,” Will said.

“Daniel and I aren’t little kids anymore, Will. We’re old enough to take care of ourselves. We’ll be all right if you want to go to college,” Klaus explained.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Grandfather Nicholas probably isn’t going to be around very long either. I won’t just leave you two on your own,” Will explained.

“Daniel’s already several years older than you were when Mom and Dad died,” Klaus reminded him.

Although he knew all of their ages, Will had never realized that. His little brothers weren’t so little anymore. Still, he wouldn’t put anyone through what he’d gone through trying to handle the responsibility of being the head of house at that young an age. Besides, there were other insurmountable obstacles. “We don’t have the money,” Will said.

“There are grants and assistance funds for teens like us, Will. I’ve looked into it for myself. We qualify for a pretty big scholarship just because we’re orphans, and there are other skill based scholarships, too. They aren’t all the traditional things you’d think of. I bet with the skills you’ve learned cooking and cleaning for us, you’ll qualify for some based on that. You could get enough money, even enough to go to Academie Le Tour.”

“No,” Will stopped him. “We need an adult income to pay the household bills. We need money for groceries and to pay the utilities so the repo man doesn’t come take everything again. I know you remember what losing all our stuff to the repo man was like, but I . . . I never made you guys go without food. You have no idea how hard that is . . . to be starving and not have enough money to buy groceries. We need me to get a job so that doesn’t happen again. We don’t have Grandpa Monty’s income anymore and we can’t count on Grandfather Nicholas’ for long either.”

“We can live off of the life insurance money for a while, Will. It was a really big check. It will pay for bills and groceries until you get back. And by going to college, you’ll be increasing your earning abilities so that you can make a lot more money pretty soon. That just makes financial sense.”

“Are you sure you two would be okay? It’s a lot harder to take care of the house than you realize. I never knew how much it took until I was actually doing it,” Will questioned.

Daniel came up and hugged him. “You’ve made so many sacrifices for us. You shouldn’t have to deny yourself all of your dreams. We want you to have this. Klaus and I can handle it. It will be easier for us because there are two of us and we have each other. And, you’re not really leaving us. If we have questions or problems or just need advice we can always call and talk to you. If we get into any really big trouble you could come home, but I don’t think that will happen. We love you, brother; we want you to be happy.”

Tears filled Will’s eyes again, but this time in happiness. He was so proud of his brothers. They cared about him, and that felt wonderful.

Will went into the house and started an online application to Academie Le Tour. His hopes were quickly dashed. Shame flooded over him as he read the application requirements. Luckily, Daniel had come in to check on him.

“What’s wrong, Will?” Daniel asked when he saw that his brother was crying once again.

“They are never going to admit me to this school,” he said in dismay. “They want all of my high school transcripts.”

“What’s wrong with that?” Daniel asked. He knew his brother got good grades. He’d been on the honor roll.

“I . . . I never told anyone, because I was so ashamed, but . . . when Mom and Dad died I didn’t do so good at balancing everything. I brought home some really bad report cards, the kind Dad would have tanned my hide for. The admissions board will never accept me when they see that I got Ds and an F freshman year.”

“Will,” Daniel whispered before putting an arm around his brother’s shoulders. He’d had no idea that things had been that hard for his brother. Will had never let either of his brothers go a day without doing their homework. Daniel was once again reminded of how much his brother had done for him. “All college admissions require an essay. If you talk about Mom and Dad, and raising me and Klaus . . . the admissions board will overlook a few bad grades that happened right at that time. They’ll understand why that happened, and they’ll be even more impressed that you managed to turn things around and bring yourself up to constant As.”

“You mean . . . tell them the details about what it was like when Mom and Dad died and . . . about how I struggled? You want me to write about all that?” Will wasn’t sure he could do it. Pouring his heart out on a piece of paper, dragging up all of those past pains, and to complete strangers?

“The’ll let you in if you do, Will,” Daniel said with confidence.

Will nodded. He was determined. Getting into Academie Le Tour was worth it. It was his lifelong dream to attend there, get married, have kids, and send his children there. If he could get in then maybe he could fulfill that dream with Shenene. Still, it would be really painful to write all of that. “Will you stay with me, Daniel?” Will asked, “While I work on the hard parts?”

Of course Daniel agreed. He was there for his brother as he struggled through the emotions of putting his past into words, and Daniel was even able to make some suggestions since he was so good with writing.

With his application finally sent, Will moved onto researching scholarships. He was happy to discover that Klaus was right. He was awarded 1,500 simoleons from the Orphaned Sims Assistance Fund. He also received scholarships for his grades and his cooking, cleaning, and logic skills. All together it added up to 4,750 simoleons, certainly enough to pay for a few semesters of tuition.

The reply letter from Academy Le Tour came very quickly. Will held the envelope. He was so scared; he couldn’t do anything besides hold the letter in his very shaky hands.

“Aren’t you going to open it?” Klaus asked.

Will shook his head. Right then he still had his dreams. If he opened the letter and it was a rejection letter, he’d have nothing again. He just couldn’t bring himself to open it and see in writing ‘no, we don’t want you.’

“I’ll open it for you, then,” Klaus suggested, reaching for the letter.

“No,” Will whispered. His hands were trembling like crazy as he ripped the envelope. He stared for a long time at the words, unable to say anything. Tears started flooding his eyes.

“There’s always Sim State,” Daniel suggested, trying to console his brother. It wasn’t right. If anyone deserved to go to Academie Le Tour, it was Will.

“It’s a yes,” Will finally found his breath to say. Both brothers ran up and hugged him, and they all cried together. It would be hard for them to be apart from each other, but Will was going to get to realize his dream, and they were just a phone call away.

The cab came to pick Will up and the whole family followed behind him to wave goodbye.

The house felt really empty without Monty and Will around.

Daniel decided that they needed a pet to help fill the void. He’d wanted to get an animal for companionship for a while, but now there was enough room and money for one. He invited a few friends to go with him on an outing to the pet store.

They had a rockin’ time, but Daniel found out that the pet stores only sold adult pets, so he didn’t purchase one after all. It was silly, but Daniel really wanted a kitten. He wanted something he could nurture and care for the way his brother had cared for him. Daniel knew that there were a lot of innocent little kittens that nobody wanted, that just wanted someone to love them. That really resonated with Daniel, so he called the local animal shelter. They sent a police officer over right away with a little black kitten that had been abandoned. Daniel knew immediately what he wanted to call his new little love. “Don’t worry, Liebe. I’m going to take really good care of you,” he explained as he cuddled the little furball. Daniel had been taking several language classes in school, and the German nickname just felt natural to him.

Grandfather Nicholas continued his romancing

while Daniel played with the newest and littlest member of the family.

Season Recap

1. Will had his first kiss with Shenene and asked her to go steady with him.

2. Grandpa Monty passed away from old age. He did not achieve his lifetime want and did not get a platinum gravestone. He left a good inheritance to a lot of people. Will was very upset over the loss.

3. Nich continued adding to his love count. I think he’s up to 10.

4. Klaus and Daniel stayed busy skill building for most of the season.

5. Will left for college. He will be attending Academie Le Tour with Shenene. He got the Orphaned Sims Assistance Fund, the Sim City Scholar’s grant, the London Culinary Arts scholarship, the Will Wright Genius grant, and the Kim Metro Prize for Hygenics totaling 4,750 simoleons.

6. Daniel got his first kitten. It is a black male kitten named Liebe.

Author’s Notes

Monty is the first sim I’ve ever had die in my game. I cried. And, I didn’t even manage to get him the platinum gravestone. I’d calculated that he could die that day, but looking at his life meter he still had plenty of time. I’d managed to keep him platinum for days while writing his novel, but I let him go to work that day and he dropped to green while at work. He died immediately after getting out of the carpool. So, I’ve learned my lesson, do not really trust the life meter for elders.

I have no idea what makes some sims cry and mourn more than others. Will cried the most when his parents died, but I thought that it was just because he was the only family sim at the time. This time when Monty passed away, several of my sims simply waved him goodbye. Daniel and Klaus immediately moved on to doing other things, but Will stood there and cried forever. I couldn’t even direct him to do other things. He had to stop and cry about 3 or 4 times while cooking dinner. I’m amazed he didn’t burn it. When the inheritance kicked in, Will got a red memory of it, but all of the other sims got a blue happy one of it. I understand why Will would be so upset, but why isn’t Daniel? He had an even higher relationship with Monty and is a family sim as well. I just find it very odd that he isn’t as devastated as Will.

The house does feel very empty without Will and Monty. I really miss having my three boys in the same household. I think I’m going to have to remake them in another neighborhood to play together just for fun. They were so cute together.

Windsor Family Season 3 Spring

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

George Windsor—Elder male family sim with Aries personality
Lifetime want—have 6 grandchildren

Andrew Windsor—Adult male fortune sim with Aquarius personality
Lifetime want—become chief of staff

Elizabeth Windsor—Adult female family sim with Cancer personality
Lifetime want—reach top of education career

Philip Windsor—Child male sim with Sagittarius personality

Year 1 Season 3—Spring

Spring started out very badly for Elizabeth. She had worked her whole maternity leave to improve her skills in order to be promoted to elementary school teacher, but her first day at the job she made a big mistake. They told her that perhaps she wasn’t cut out for the job after all, and the principal demoted her back to substitute teacher.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Elizabeth was devastated, and she cried through most of dinner.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

She decided to play with James to try to cheer herself up. He was still ugly, but he was her child. Cuddling him close did seem to improve her mood.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The whole family was so upset about Elizabeth’s demotion and worried about raising James properly that they all completely forgot about Philip’s birthday. He grew-up well anyway, mostly because of the attention doted on him before the birth of his little brother.

Philip was rather annoyed that everyone had forgotten his birthday. He’d thought about being a family sim before that. Philip had tried to be nice to his little brother recently, but he was just plain mean. And they all cared for James that night and forgot about him. So, whatever, family was out. So was his brief thought of being a fortune sim to please his father. He decided he wanted to be a pleasure sim. He’d care about himself and feeling good and forget everyone else. Having fifty dream dates, yeah that sounded like fun.

George invited Denise out on a date that night. They had a good time, even if some old bat complained about their making out in public.

The next day Elizabeth helped Philip learn to walk and George taught him how to talk.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Philip had had enough. His family was still giving all of their attention to James. He had to remind himself that he didn’t care about family anymore anyway. He snuck out that night with his friend, Evan Sinclair.

The next day was James’ birthday. They had a huge party and it was a rocking time. Elizabeth carried James to the cake and helped him blow out the candles. A quick hair cut and change of clothes later, well James was still an ugly child, but he wasn’t hideous anymore. If you didn’t look at the face to close, he was actually all right.

George was waiting for Elizabeth when she came home from work the next day. “Elizabeth, I made you a special snack,” he said, handing her a desert plate.

“Ohhh, is that cheesecake? What did I do to deserve that?” she asked.

George simply grinned. “Oh, I just felt like using some of my new cooking skills.”

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The next day Elizabeth got a surprise. She recognized that sudden bump all too well. She was pregnant again.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Season Recap

1. Elizabeth was demoted to substitute teacher.

2. Philip became a teen. He grew-up well even without a party. He chose pleasure as his aspiration and his lifetime want is 50 dream dates.

3. James became a child and grew-up well.

4. Elizabeth is pregnant again, hopefully with twins.

Author’s Notes

That first day of spring for them was probably the hardest for me to not break the must save rule. I was so distraught over Elizabeth’s demotion that I actually forgot Philip’s birthday, which was the whole reason I was playing that family at that time to begin with. Oh well.

I’m a little nervous about the 50 dream dates lifetime want. Fifty is an awful lot.

James is looking a little better.

Just for fun, here are a few cute pictures of my Windsor men studying.

Cory Family Season 3 Spring

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Amanda Cory—Adult female popularity sim with Aries personality
Lifetime want—have 20 simultaneous best friends

Alyssa Cory—Child female sim with Cancer personality

Year 1 Season 3—Spring

When Alyssa got home from school she asked her nanny if she could throw herself a birthday party. Her mom was at work, of course. Alyssa wished her mom could have been there, but that wasn’t going to stop her from having a good time. She wasn’t as outgoing as her mother, but she still had friends. She could be a party girl if she wanted.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Step one for a good party—invitations. She invited her friends Will, Klaus, and Daniel Turner and Evan Sinclair. She even invited Cameron and Gary to come with Evan. Step two—birthday cake. Step three—music. Alyssa turned on the stereo her mother had given her earlier that day for her birthday.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

With everything in place, it was party time. Everyone gathered around the cake and sang “Happy Birthday” while she blew out the candles.

“Whoa, look at me,” Alyssa said. She’d always been a cute kid, but suddenly she was a hot teen. Alyssa was very pleased with her new appearance.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It was almost enough to make her pick an aspiration to match her new looks, something like popularity or pleasure, but in her heart Alyssa knew what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. She’d always wanted a traditional nuclear family, a mom and a dad that were there for her. She’d never even met her father; and, although she loved her mom, Amanda never had the chance to be there for Alyssa. Now was her chance to get that for herself. She wanted a loving husband and children of her own. And unlike her mom, she would find a way to be there for her family. She would pick a career in something like education so that she could spend more time with her children.

The party went on late into the night with everybody dancing and talking. The fun carried on into the next day. Amanda felt guilty about missing her daughter’s birthday so she offered to take Alyssa to the mall for a new outfit and a pampering makeover. It was a fun mother and daughter day. That night they even went to a dance club. Alyssa boogied down with her friend Philip Windsor while Amanda and Cameron danced.

Sunday was an awful day for Amanda. She loved Cameron with all her heart. She thought he loved her, too. He’d always been kind to her; he’d listened to her thoughts and ideas; he’d even been nice to Alyssa. But it turned out that he was just a jerk like every other man. She caught him out on a date with another woman, and then he tried to play it off like he didn’t even know what he’d done wrong!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

She couldn’t believe how wrong she’d been about him. She’d thought that he was the one. She’d thought about marrying him and letting him adopt Alyssa. How could she have been so blind as to not realize that he was a womanizing romance sim? She couldn’t believe it, but it had happened, and Amanda fell into a pit of depression. She wasn’t doing that great at her job, Alyssa had grown-up and even had her birthday without her mom, and now she’d learned that her boyfriend was a two-timing jerk.

Cameron had the audacity to call her that night. He said he was sorry; it was a mistake; he really loved her. Amanda screamed at him and hung up the phone. Was she supposed to believe a single word he said? He loved her, sure, that’s why he was dating other women. He even came over that night and wouldn’t stop banging on the door until she went out to talk to him.

“Amanda, please . . . please just talk to me. I know you’re mad; you have every right to be mad, but please . . .”

“What exactly do you think that you’re going to stay that’s going to change anything?” she demanded.

“I love you, Amanda.”

“You love me, great, that’s why you were out on a date with that bimbo!”

“I admit I made a mistake. It was a really big mistake. But it made me realize how much I really love you. The second you walked away from me I knew that you’re the only woman I’ve ever actually loved, and you’re the only woman I ever will love. I don’t deserve your love, but I know now that I can’t live without you. Please, Amanda, take me back. I love you so much.”

“No,” she said angrily. “Now are we finished?”

“No,” Cameron said as a tear slipped down his cheek. He knew he didn’t deserve a woman as great as Amanda; she deserved so much better. But suddenly all the other women didn’t even matter to him anymore. He’d had a chance with an amazing person and he’d blown it, like everything else in his life. But, this time he wasn’t going to just give up and run away. “I’m not giving up on you. I’m not giving up on us. I’m going to come by your house every night and talk to the door if you won’t come out and I’ll apologize every fifteen minutes until you take me back.”

Amanda wasn’t ready to hear it yet. She walked away from him and flung the door shut, but she didn’t lock it and didn’t stop him when he came inside after her. Deep down, really deep down, she still loved him, even if she was furious with him. It hurt her to see him crying over her. She couldn’t forgive him, not yet, but she wasn’t going to throw him out. She would tolerate his presence for the time being until he finally found a way to earn her forgiveness.

Alyssa stopped by the grocery store on the way home form school. She was in charge of a lot of little chores now that she was a teenager. She grabbed a pound of hamburger, a few onions, some tomato soup, cheese, and crackers. She was planning on making chili for dinner.

When she brought her basket up to the checkout a really cute guy asked her “Can I help you?”

Alyssa was speechless. He was incredibly handsome. He was very tan with frosty blonde hair like a surfer. He had a really cute smile, too.

“Ummm, did you want to purchase those?” he asked.

It was only then that Alyssa realized that she’d been standing there with her mouth open not saying a word. “Uhh, yeah, sorry,” she quickly replied.

His voice was soft and sweet when he told her that her total was 321 simoleons. Alyssa told herself that there was no way he would be interested in her. A guy like that probably already had 3 girlfriends, but then she remembered her hot new body and decided to at least feel him out. She chatted with him for a minute about nothing, but they found that they had enough in common to talk about. She felt silly, though, trying to pick-up a guy at the grocery store.

“Okay, well bye,” she said awkwardly.

“Hey, umm . . . . A-A-Alysa . . . here’s my number, you know, ummm, if you ever wanted to call me . . . or something,” he said rather shyly as he slipped her a bit of register paper with his phone number on it. Alyssa thought he looked nervous and vulnerable when he gave it to her, but she figured that he probably put on this act for all of the girls. Still, she called him that night and invited him over. There was nothing wrong with at least finding out a little bit more about him.

Alyssa feared her worries were confirmed when he immediately began charming her upon arriving at her house.

But, she’d invited him over, so she might as well find out as much as she could about him.

“So, umm, what do you want?” she asked.

“I want to get into private school,” he said.

“Emerald Isle Academy? That’s where I go,” she said with a smile. “It’s a great school and the headmaster is actually pretty cool.” She was relieved that he hadn’t said make-out with some chick, but then again, what guy would actually tell you that right away?

“What’s your sign?” she asked next.

“Capricorn, you?” he replied.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Cancer,” she said. Capricorns were nice, she thought. She could see herself with a Capricorn some day. Alyssa was starting to feel herself fall for George. She figured she might as well go for it and let him reject her now instead of later. “So you like what you see?” she asked boldly.

“Oh yeah!” he said his eyes lighting up. “I really like your make-up. You’re really pretty,” he replied, but then he got nervous again and then looked at his feet.

Alyssa suddenly realized that he was as nervous as she was. She remembered how scared and vulnerable he’d looked when he’d given her his number, and was starting to believe that it wasn’t an act. Capricorns could be shy. Maybe he really had been so taken by her that he’d braved her rejection when he gave her that paper.

“I really like you, too,” she whispered. He took a quick breath then smiled at her, suddenly seeming less scared. She invited him inside and they talked some more as they watched television. She learned that he was really smart and had a lot of skills. He said he was an expert in a few and very good at a lot. Alyssa was excited. She thought that she had probably found the man for her, but she didn’t want to get too carried away with herself. After all, her mom had thought that Cameron was right, too.

The next day after school Alyssa immediately called George and asked him to come over for a date. She was right about his feelings for her, because he quickly agreed. That afternoon he nervously confided in her that he was a fortune sim. “You’re not romance are you?” he asked meekly.

Alyssa shook her head. “Family,” she whispered. “Are you fortune . . . like I wouldn’t mind earning some money to raise a family, fortune?” she asked hopefully.

He nodded. With that it was official; they had major crushes on each other.

That night Amanda came home much happier. She’d finally gotten her promotion. She was now an obituary writer. It wasn’t the glamorous position she’d hoped for, but at least the hours and the pay were better.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

To celebrate Amanda bought herself a fancy new car

and threw herself a party. She invited all of the neighbors and they had a good time.

As Alyssa danced with George at the party, things finally seemed to be going right for her. Her mom had gotten a promotion with reasonable hours, Cameron was hopefully out of their lives, and she had a really hot and sweet boyfriend. She leaned in and hugged George close.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

She knew that he was as into her as she was into him. They just felt right together. She glanced at him as butterflies filled her stomach. She knew what she wanted to do, and she was pretty sure that George would like it to, but she wasn’t positive . . . he was so shy. “Do you want to kiss me?” she offered.

George immediately went bashful and looked at the floor. Of course he wanted to kiss her, but he was still worried that she was too pretty and popular for him. Maybe she was just teasing him?

Alyssa reached for his cheek and gently turned his eyes to meet hers. “I want to kiss you,” she whispered.

He gave her one last bashful glance, and they both leaned awkwardly in. Neither one of them had ever kissed anyone before, but when it actually happened, it was a magical moment.

“Thanks for being you, Alyssa,” he whispered as he hugged her tight. “Most girls would have laughed at me for not knowing how to kiss.”

“That was amazing. I’m pretty sure you know what you’re doing now, but maybe we should practice a little,” she suggested with a giggle.

Season Recap

1. Alyssa transitioned to a teen. Her aspiration is family and her lifetime want is to reach the top of the education career.

2. Amanda caught Cameron cheating. As mad as she was at him, she tolerated his presence during the furious state and might make-up with him soon.

3. Alyssa met George, a grocery clerk. They had a good date and had their first kiss. George is a fortune sim and a Capricorn.

Author’s Comments

Since I had all 4 of my families having a child transition to a teen on the first day of Spring, I played the first day with all 4 families to play their birthdays all in a row. I’m sure it’s against the rules, but it only seemed fair that they all have the same chance to interact with fellow teens the rest of the season. That’s why Amanda didn’t discover Cameron’s cheating until midseason, but it actually makes the stories match together nicely.

What do you all think of George? I like that he’s a fortune sim, he has LOTS of skills, and blonde hair. I don’t like that his skintone is so dark (S2 would be okay, but S3 just looks odd) and has brown eyes instead of blue. I’m a little concerned about him being a Capricorn, too. Present Zodiac only gives 1 point for “Active” for Capricorn. They are neat, playful, and at least neutrally nice, though. Alyssa is 2 lightning bolts with George, but she is 3 lightning bolts with Daniel Turner. I didn’t really want to blend those families yet, though, because I wanted a pure Cory line. Also if I have them both meet other townies and have children I have two chances at pretty children. What do you think?

Sinclair Family Season 3

Gary Sinclair—Adult male fortune sim with Scorpio personality
Lifetime want—earn $100,000

Cameron Sinclair—Adult male romance sim with Aquarius personality
Lifetime want—become professional party guest

Evan Sinclair—Child male sim with Taurus personality

Year 1 Season 3—Spring

Evan came home from school to a huge surprise birthday party for him. His father and Uncle Cam had invited all of his friends. They even had a nice cake for him. Unlike last time, Evan got to blow out the candles before he grew up. The party was a great time. And, like his friend Daniel, Evan became a teenager, a rather hot young teen.

“So, Ev, what do you want to pick for your aspiration? It’s time to make it official. What do you want to do with the rest of your life?” Cameron asked.

“Knowledge,” Evan said confidently.

“Knowledge?” Cameron asked, surprised. He’d been sure that Evan would pick fortune like his father.

“Dad says college is really important for me. A knowledge aspiration will help me get through college. I’m sure that’s what will make Dad happy.”

“Ev, there are things after college. There are more things than just pleasing your dad.”

“I know. I mean, I have friends, but I really just want Dad to be proud of me someday. I thought if I maybe graduated from college with highest honors, then maybe he’d be happy with me. After that I thought about maybe trying to reach the top of the journalism career. That does interest me, and it would bring in a lot of money to make Dad happy.”

“Okay, Ev,” Cameron conceded. “Just make sure it makes you happy, okay?” Cameron gave Evan a hug. That settled it, though. He was going to have to have a talk with Gary. He was pushing his son towards a nervous breakdown.

There were more immediate concerns, though. What party would be complete without a woohoo? He invited Amanda upstairs and got what he needed from her.

That night after all of the party guests were gone, Cameron asked to speak to Gary privately.

“You want to talk?” Gary asked. “What did you do this time?”

“I didn’t do anything,” Cameron said, trying not to get angry at Gary’s assumption. “I want to talk to you about Evan.”

Concern flashed across Gary’s face. “What’s wrong with Evan?”

“You have got to ease up on him, Gary,” Cameron explained.

“You’re giving me parenting advice?”

“No, I certainly don’t know anything about raising children, but I do know about being in Evan’s position, trying to live up to your expectations. He’s handling it better than I ever did, but eventually he’s going to realize that he can’t live up to what you want, and then he’s either going to go crazy or run away like I did.”

“You’re blaming me for your running away?”

“No, of course not. I ran away because the old man was beating the crap out of me every day. But, maybe if you’d shown me a little more love, if I’d felt closer to you, I wouldn’t have . . .”

“Cameron, I loved you a lot. That’s why I always pushed you so hard.”

“But, you pushed me too hard. I knew I couldn’t please you, that you’d never love me for who I was, so I ran off. Don’t put Evan in that situation.”

“Evan isn’t you, Cameron. He’s doing great in school; he’s learning skills quickly; he’s . . .”

“Do you know why he chose knowledge for his life aspiration?”

“Because he likes learning,” Gary guessed.

“He chose it because it’s what he thought you wanted from him. He told me that all he wants out of life is to make you proud.”

Gary just stared at him blankly. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Didn’t Evan know how proud of him he was already? Didn’t his son know how much he loved him?

“Let me ask you something, Gary. When was the last time you remember Evan coming to you with a problem? When was the last time he woke you up crying in the middle of the night?”

“What?” Gary asked in shock. “Evan . . .”

“He woke me up crying two nights ago. I’ve lost track of the number of times he’s come to me for help because he was too afraid to ask you.”

Gary shook his head. Cameron’s words were finally starting to sink in. “I . . . I . . .”

“Just lighten up on him, okay? We all want to see him succeed. He will on his own. Just tell him that you love him occasionally; tell him that you’re proud of him.”

Gary made a resolution right then to be kinder to his son.

The next day Gary began a run on promotions. He was promoted to Detective, and then Lieutenant. Shortly thereafter Gary was faced with a tough decision at work. He had to make an example out of two rogue sergeants and threaten to take away their badges. That tactic worked, though, and the chief promoted Gary to a SWAT team leader.

Cameron was also getting promotion after promotion as well, but he was woohooing his way to the top. First Cameron was promoted to being a party DJ, then he made the right decision about what type of music to play and earned some skill points as a bonus. The easiest thing to do, though, was to continually have dream dates with Tara. She kept pulling strings to get him promotions. He eventually got promoted to being a freelance photographer.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

He got tired of spending so much time with Tara. He didn’t really like her. He was just using her for the promotions. He wanted to spend more time with Amanda, but he did at least discover a new pastime. Woohoo in Gary’s car was something both he and Tara could really enjoy.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Since he was finally finding success in his career, Gary started to think more and more about his family. He cared about Evan so much, and he was taking Cameron’s words to heart. He was beginning to think that maybe Evan needed a new mom. A caring mom to be there for Evan while Gary was working on his career would certainly make things easier. Besides, the spring air was starting to make him long for a bit of romance.

He went on a couple of dates and met a couple of sims with potential. First there was Allyn.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Gary liked her black hair and tan skin tone. She dressed a little trampy to be the motherly kind, but outfits could be changed, heavy make-up could be removed.

The second candidate was Regina.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Gary knew her from the police force. He didn’t really like her blonde hair or heavy make-up, but she did have a very cute face for potential future babies. She also was a fortune sim, which gave them a lot in common.

Tara called and asked Cameron if he wanted to go on another date. Another promotion sounded good to him, so he agreed. He was a little hesitant to say ‘yes’ only because he normally only met Tara at the house. He was a little worried about running into Amanda or Jan while they were out, but he reasoned that he would just not make any overt romantic moves on Tara until they got home and it would be okay.

Within moments of arriving at the dance hall with Tara he saw Amanda. Cameron was nervous and was about to suggest a change in venue when Amanda approached them.

“You jerk!” she screamed. Cameron had never seen her with an angry face before, and he didn’t like it at all.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Amanda,” he said in surprise. “Why are you so upset?” he asked. There was no way that she could tell he was on a date with Tara just from them getting out of a cab together, could she?

She slapped him. “I thought we had something, Cameron. I thought you were special, but you are just a jerk like all other men!” She stormed off.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Amanda!” he called. He was about to run after her and apologize when he saw Tara still standing next to him. He’d already messed things up with Amanda. There was no point in messing things up with Tara and messing up his chance at a promotion as well.

“Who was she?” Tara asked, apparently not too upset about the fight she’d just witnessed.

“Ummm, nobody, just an old girlfriend,” Cameron lied.

“And who’s she then?” Jan asked from behind him.

“Jan,” Cameron started. When had she arrived on the lot? Jan slapped him just as fast as Amanda had and huffed off herself.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Well,” Tara said, “any other girlfriends I need to know about?”

Cameron shook his head. Amazingly Tara didn’t seem even the slightest bit upset about the incidents. “Wanna go back to my place?” he asked. He felt miserable. He hadn’t meant to hurt either girl, and he suddenly realized that he really, really missed Amanda. But, feeling sorry for himself wasn’t going to help anything. He might as well still try for that promotion.

“Sure, maybe we could park in your driveway for a while again,” Tara agreed.

Cameron managed to still have a great date with Tara, but he just wasn’t into it. He was distraught over losing Amanda. He really loved her. He’d never realized it when he was dating all three girls, but there was a difference in the way he felt about Amanda and the way he felt about most women. He hadn’t been using her the way he’d been using Tara or Jan. He was mooching off of them, but he loved Amanda. Without her life seemed . . . empty. He had to find a way to fix things with her. He just couldn’t face the possibility of living life without her.

He tried calling her on the phone first. Just the sound of her voice when she answered the phone made his heart skip a beat. “Amanda . . .” he began.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Don’t call me again, jerk!” she yelled before hanging up the phone.

Cameron felt tears in his eyes for the first time since he was a kid. He didn’t cry. He didn’t show emotion. The old man had taught him that. Still, he felt like he could curl up into a ball and cry for days. “Amanda,” he whispered into the air as his lip trembled.

Unable to deal with the emotions he was feeling, Cameron did the only thing that seemed reasonable to him. He went to the bar to drink his sorrows away.

Season Recap

1. Evan became a teen and chose the knowledge aspiration. His lifetime want is to reach the top of the journalism career.

2. Gary got promoted to SWAT team leader. Cameron got promoted to freelance photographer.

3. Both Amanda and Jan caught Cameron cheating with Tara.

Author’s Comments

I honestly had no idea that just being on a date in the presence of another love would trigger the cheating reaction. I really want to get Cameron together with Amanda and had no intentions of ever letting her catch him cheating. But, it happened. Amazingly, this is actually following the plotline of Another World, the soap opera the character names are from, pretty closely. It’s truly not intentional, though. I hope to try to reconcile Amanda and Cameron soon.

Year 1 Season 3—Spring

It was Spring, and Spring is a time for romance. Grandfather Nicholas couldn’t be happier about that. He had several loves already, but he was still a long way from the 20 he desired. He invited Brandi over on a date. She was a pretty young thing, but boy was she conservative. All the moves that normally attracted the ladies just irritated her. But, Nich didn’t give up that easy. He worked his way to a crush with her.

Will got home from school and realized that it was time for his little brother’s birthday. He couldn’t believe how much Daniel had grown up already. It seemed like it had been only a few days since he’d taught him to walk and use the potty. But, it had been years, some very difficult years. But, it was a night for celebration. The problem was that no one could make it to the party. Nicholas, Monty, and Klaus all had to work. Will tried to convince them that they had to stay home; it was Daniel’s birthday. This was important! But, they reminded him that they’d stayed home for Christmas and that staying home another day would probably result in their being fired, which they all knew they couldn’t afford.

Daniel was off to a good start to his birthday already. He’d won another spelling bee at school, and this time he’d won a logic point. He really was a very bright young boy.

He was surprised to find out that his brother had organized a party for his birthday. Most of the family couldn’t be there, but Will was there. Will had invited all of the children from the neighborhood (Evan, Alyssa, and Philip) and his friend Amaya.

Will brought out a birthday cake for Daniel.

“You shouldn’t have,” Daniel said with a smile.

“I had to. It’s your birthday,” Will said with a tear in his eye.

“But, we can’t afford it,” Daniel whispered to him.

“You only become a teenager once,” Will whispered back. “Now blow out your candles,” he said aloud.

Daniel took after his brothers and turned out just as dashing.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Will was filled with pride as he saw his brother grow-up well and transition to a teen. It was a minor miracle, he told himself, but he’d managed to make sure that Daniel hadn’t felt too much hardship in his life this far. He was doing well in school, and he was happy. It was almost all thanks to the sacrifices Will had made, but Will would have made them all again in a heartbeat. His brothers meant everything to Will.

Suddenly Will felt someone holding his hand. He looked up to see Amaya, who then reached for his other one and swung them lightly.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

She’s just being flirtatious. It doesn’t mean anything to her. She told you she doesn’t want a steady boyfriend. Will reminded himself of all of the reasons he shouldn’t get attached. But that didn’t steady his heartbeat or stop him from developing a serious crush on Amaya.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“Amaya, you had better not make me fall in love with you,” Will joked before he pulled her over and gave her a noggy. He thought that horsing around might hide the fact that he was secretly falling in love with her.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Both grandfathers and Klaus managed to make it home from work before the party was over. With the family complete, the party ended up a roof raiser. There was just one thing left to do. Grandpa Monty gave Daniel his birthday present, a chess set.

“But we can’t afford that,” Daniel protested.

“It’s a good investment for all of us. You can get fun, logic, comfort, and social out of it. It just happens to also be a great birthday present for you,” Grandpa Monty explained.

Daniel couldn’t argue with that. He’d wanted a chess set to learn logic ever since he’d outgrown his block set. And, it would benefit everyone.

That night Will went out to the backyard where his parents were buried. He knew it was suppose to be a happy time, and he was happy, but a part of him still felt sad. His parents should have been there to see this day.

“Mom, Dad,” he whispered, “Daniel grew-up well. He’s a teen, and he’s happy. There’s no chance that the social worker can take him away now, no matter how much I mess up from here. I did it. The family is still together. I didn’t let you down.”

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Will was crying so hard he almost didn’t hear Daniel approach. He quickly wiped his eyes and asked, “Sorry, Daniel. I know I should be inside. Did you need something?”

“No,” Daniel whispered. He walked over to the headstones and put an arm around his brother. “Thank you, for everything that you did for me. I know that you sacrificed a lot.”

Will had to force himself not to cry anymore. “I’m so proud of you,” he whispered around the lump in his throat.

“Tell me about them?” Daniel asked, glancing at the tombstones.

“How much do you remember,” Will asked in surprised. No one ever wanted to talk about Mom and Dad anymore.

“Not much. I remember Mom holding me before she died. I don’t really remember Dad.”

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

“They were both really nice,” Will began. “And smart. Mom was a school teacher, and Dad was an adventurer. They cared about family a lot.”

“Why . . . why do you think they didn’t take out a life insurance policy? Why didn’t they come up with any kind of will to say what should happen to us? Do you think that they thought Grandfather Nicholas would take care of us instead of refusing?”

“You remember that?” Will asked.

“I will never forget that day, being told that I didn’t have a mommy anymore, and then the tears in your eyes when Grandfather Nicholas told you no. I didn’t understand at the time what he was saying no to, but the images of that day are burned into my head. Klaus explained it all to me when I was older and started asking questions.”

Will nodded. “I don’t think they realized that they could die so soon. They were young. Nobody thinks about dying that young. I was angry at them at first, too, especially because they didn’t even have life insurance to cover the burial costs, but I realize now it wasn’t their fault. They loved us very much. They just didn’t plan on dying.”

Daniel nodded. He mostly understood, even if he was still a little upset that his parents hadn’t planned for their care. “I wanted to talk to you about my aspiration. I’m a teen now, it’s time for me to decide what I want to do with the rest of my life.”

“Do you have any ideas?” Will asked. He didn’t want to push his brother in one direction or another, although he clearly had preferences of what he would like for Daniel to choose.

“Well some things are definitely out. I don’t want to be a selfish romance sim like Grandfather Nicholas for sure. I don’t really want fortune either. It would be nice to have money to take care of the family, but fortune really is a selfish aspiration, too. I guess I want family. I’d like nice things and hot girls and fun . . . but when it comes down to it, family is what’s important. You’ve shown me that.”

“Family,” Will said with a smile. His eyes watered with tears for the third time that night.

The next day was Saturday, and the Turner family started the day with the traditional casual family breakfast. They all really enjoyed the time to relax, eat a full meal, and spend some time together as a family. Will even gave up his grudge and became best friends with Grandfather Nicholas. He couldn’t help being the type of sim he was, and he had contributed all of his wages to the family fund.

Nicholas used the spring season to his advantage as he worked his way through woman. He made it to, let’s count them, 7 loves. In addition to Tiffany, Katy, and Regina we add

He had so many ladies now, he couldn’t even remember all of their names. Let’s see there was Rebecca, Melissa, and Brandi, but was that hot blonde’s name? He couldn’t remember. Although not really his goal, Nich had also maxed out his influence potential by having so many girlfriends and other friends.

The spring season really made the teens long for love in their lives as well. Will had been waiting for so long for someone to love, Daniel craved a girlfriend because of his family aspiration, and Klaus was a teen and even knowledge teens wanted girlfriends. One day the boys came home from their private school

but this time, they brought home a friend, and she was female. They hung out on the living room floor and got to know her better.

Will wasn’t too excited by her looks. He liked redheads or blondes with blue eyes, but he’d learned his lesson with Amaya. It was what was inside a person that was important. He needed to know more about her personality, and most importantly about her future aspirations.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

They found out her name was Shenene and that she was a libra, like Daniel. They also were relatively sure from her wants that she was a pleasure sim. That concerned all of the boys since pleasure didn’t really match well with any of them. Still, she was a girl, a teenage girl, that was available. The boys nearly broke out into a fight over her.

“Come on, she’s really my friend, she came home with me,” Daniel tried.

“You’re the youngest, you have the most time to find someone else,” Klaus explained.

“Please,” Will begged. “I know you both want her, but please . . . I . . . I’ve always looked out for the two of you, but . . . I’ve wanted a girlfriend for years, please . . .”

That settled the argument. Both Klaus and Daniel understood the sacrifices Will had made on their behalf, and he did deserve some happiness in life. Will had deprived himself for too long.

Will asked her if she wanted to go on an outing with the family. He wanted to ask her on a date, but he was too afraid she’d decline. He’d been rejected too many times in his life. He didn’t want to get hurt. But, he shouldn’t have worried. He and Shenene hit it off wonderfully.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Will finally felt content. He’d always given his all into raising his brothers, and that made him feel proud and happy, but there had always been something missing. He’d never been able to fulfill any of his aspirations. He’d had dreams of that with Amaya, but she hadn’t wanted to settle down with him. He hoped that Shenene wouldn’t break his heart, too. She was, most likely, a pleasure sim, but sometimes sims outgrew such silly aspirations. Their personalities got along well, and she really seemed to care about him. The feeling of hugging her close made his dreams feel so much closer, like maybe it was possible for someone to love him.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Will still had visions of his dead parents that night. He had them consistently every night, but this night felt different. He could see them together, like they were still together even after death. They seemed like happier ghosts. Perhaps they were pleased that their family was finally on the right track.

Season Recap

1. Daniel turned into a teen. He chose family aspiration with a lifetime want of raising 20 kittens or puppies. He had a roof raiser party despite the fact that the party had to start without all of his family there.

2. Nicholas now has 7 loves and has had woohoo with most of them.

3. Will finally has a girlfriend, Shenene. She’s a libra, pleasure sim.

Author’s Notes

Will and Amaya held hands completely on their own, which led to Will’s crush. I hadn’t planned on letting him interact romantically with her, because I knew she’d just break his heart. But, it happened anyway.

Daniel turned out really good looking. I think I might have a new favorite sim.

I really struggled in deciding who to hook Shenene up with, but in the end I decided that Will needed the aspiration points the most. She may not be much to look at now, but with a makeover, I think she’ll be all right.

Windsor Family Season 2

George Windsor—Elder male family sim with Aries personality
Lifetime want—have 6 grandchildren

Andrew Windsor—Adult male fortune sim with Aquarius personality
Lifetime want—become chief of staff

Elizabeth Windsor—Adult female family sim with Cancer personality
Lifetime want—reach top of education career

Philip Windsor—Child male sim with Sagittarius personality

Year 1 Season 2—Winter

Keeping Elizabeth happy and comfortable was becoming harder and harder as her pregnancy progressed. It was a good thing that she was on maternity leave. A hamburger on the couch in front of the television, yes, that would work to improve her mood.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

She invited the headmaster of the private school over that night. She was a Windsor, and Windsors went straight to getting things done. She called the man over, served him dinner, offered him a quick tour, and just like that her son was in private school. Things were definitely easier when your father-in-law was a famous politician, even if it was a long time ago in another country.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Sending him to private school definitely paid off. The very next day Philip came home and announced that he’d started taking violin lessons. He’d been selected as the concert master in the private school orchestra. He also brought home some friends from school.

Andrew came home from work with an announcement. He’d finally been promoted to resident. Now he was making the kind of salary that could support his growing family.

It was a good thing, because Elizabeth went into labor that night.

The whole family gathered around to cheer when she brought home little James from the hospital.

“George, do you think that you can take care of James so that I can go back to work? I found out that I can take 3 days off from work to take care of him, and I know that I should try to bond with him more, but I’d really like to go back to work and get a promotion.”

“Of course, Elizabeth,” he replied. “I’d love to take care of the baby. You just go back to work, and I’ll take care of everything. But, think about having another baby again, soon, will you? I’d really love to see 6 grandchildren before I die.”

Andrew and Elizabeth both headed off to work, hoping for promotions, leaving James in George’s capable hands.

It was an evening of special announcements that night. Elizabeth had been promoted to substitute teacher, Andrew was promoted to general practitioner, and Philip brought home an A+ report card. The Windsor family was finally back to the prosperous household they were previously use to.

Elizabeth wasn’t happy stopping there, though. Oh no, she had dreams of making it to the top of the education career. Did that stop her from wanting more babies, no, of course not. She wanted it all. So, she held little James and worked on bonding with him while she practiced the speech she needed to learn for her next promotion.

Elizabeth was on the fast track for her career. She’d spent most of her maternity leave studying up, and she was flying through the promotions. She was promoted to elementary school teacher the very next day. This was a job that Elizabeth just loved. She really enjoyed playing with the children and teaching them, but she still held dreams for more.

In the meantime, the family needed some attention. It was time for James’ first birthday. He wasn’t a baby anymore. They, of course, through a huge party for him complete with cake and party favors.

Elizabeth held James close to get a good look at him for the first time as a toddler.

Introducing James Windsor . . . personality Sagittarius, Neat 4, Outgoing 4, Active 9, Playful 7, Nice 1 (ouch!). And his appearance . . .

“He’s hideous!” she shrieked, almost dropping him. “How could that thing have come from me? I’m . . .I’m a pretty woman, and Andrew is amazingly handsome . . . that thing . . . it’s a monster . . .”

“Now, now,” George took James from her hands. “It’s actually rather common for Windsor children to turn out a little on the ugly side. Perhaps it was too much inbreeding generations ago. But, a little bit of sim surgery when he’s an adult, and he’ll be as dashing as your husband here.”

The party ended up a good time, even though the mother of the baby was still completely flipping out. The guests seemed to just move on and have fun conversing anyway.

George spent the night teaching James some necessary skills. He learned to use the potty right away. He was definitely a child only a grandfather could love, but George was happy to have him just the same.

Author’s Notes

This family is by far the easiest to play. It’s almost too easy how fast these sims have been speeding through their promotions. Too bad James is soooo ugly. It’s going to take lots of encouragement to get him to be decent sim. I really hope that not all their babies end up ugly, because the parents are so pretty. Maybe they just don’t blend well. In any case, James had bettered not even think about rolling up a popularity or romance sim. It’s just not happening, buddy. Everybody pray he rolls up knowledge.

Year 1 Season 2—Winter

Alyssa glared as Cameron walked past her in his underwear. He was spending the night, again. They acted as if she didn’t even know what was going on. She was eight, but she wasn’t stupid.

At least she hadn’t SEEN Cameron with any other women since their little talk. She’d asked Evan, and he’d said that he hadn’t seen Jan or Tara around recently. But, she was relatively certain that Evan would lie to her to cover for his Uncle Cam. She trusted Evan as her best friend, and he insisted that Cameron was really a nice guy, but what kind of man had woohoo with a woman and then went on a date with someone else?

He came and sat next to her on the couch, acting like everything was perfectly normal between them. At least he took a shower and put his clothes back on first.

“Where’s Mom?” Alyssa asked, not bothering to hide the bitterness in her tone.

“Sleeping,” Cameron replied.

Alyssa stared at him. Was he honestly going to pretend like he was interested in the cartoon she was watching? She thought about demanding to know what he wanted and forcing him out of the room, but it wasn’t worth it. She decided to give up the couch and go to her bedroom. “My mom deserves so much better than you,” she spat angrily as she passed him.

“Yeah, she does,” he whispered.

Alyssa spun around on the spot. “What did you just say?”

“Your mother is an amazing and wonderful woman. She does deserve better than me,” he answered in a quiet tone.

Alyssa was too stunned to give a biting reply. Why would he say that? What was he up to? She just stared at him with her mouth open. Her stomach took that exact moment to grumble, and it growled loud enough to echo through the living room.

“You hungry, kid?” Cameron asked as he headed toward the kitchen. He seemed to have completely shaken off her angry comments. “I think there’s some leftovers in the fridge that I could heat up for you.”

She was hungry. Both the nanny and her mother had forgotten to feed her dinner. But, she was still too shocked to even decide if she wanted Cameron to make her something or not. He didn’t wait for her reply. He already had food out on the stove heating. She followed him to the dining room as he sat down a plate for both of them. Alyssa ate it. She was hungry, and starving herself wouldn’t help her figure out what he was up to. She decided that perhaps he was trying to suck up to her so that maybe she wouldn’t reveal his secret about Tara. Well, that was easy enough to find out.

“I’m going to tell Mom about Tara,” she informed him. She watched his reaction carefully. He’d gone as white as a ghost.

“Okay,” was all he whispered.

Okay? Why in the world would he say okay? Why was he even being civil to her? Then she looked at him again. He looked almost like he was going to cry. She just couldn’t understand what the pieces of the puzzle were adding up to. “You really love her, don’t you?” Alyssa asked.

“Yeah,” he said. When he looked up at her she could see, yes, there were tears in his pale blue eyes.

“Then why are you going out on dates and having woohoo with other women?” Alyssa had worked herself up again. She was about ready to storm off to her room. But, she wanted to know the answer to this. It was incomprehensible to her, and she wanted to understand this.

“I’m not a family guy. A wife, two kids, and a picket fence . . . that’s just not who I am, Alyssa. I don’t think I CAN be that guy. But, you’re right, your mom does deserve better. I’m not trying to hurt her. I guess I should just break up with her, for her sake, but . . . I don’t want to give her up. She really is something special . . .” he trailed off.

For a moment, Alyssa could almost see what Evan meant. Cameron wasn’t a bad guy. At his heart, he actually was pretty nice. That’s why he’d fed her, and why she could remember him even holding her some when she was little. Evan said that a lot of times Cameron talked all selfish and all about woohoo, but if he let his Uncle Cam see that he was upset, he was suddenly the nicest guy in the world. He couldn’t stand to see someone hurt or unhappy. Alyssa didn’t know what had affected Cameron so deeply to make him only care about woohoo, but he wasn’t the monster she’d thought when she’d first saw him with Tara.

“I’m sorry I’ve been so mean to you, Cameron,” Alyssa apologized before going to bed.

The next morning they had breakfast, almost like a family. Alyssa was happy to spend some time with her mother, and she’d decided not to be quite so judging of Cameron.

She invited her best friend Evan over after school. They played and had a good time. She really missed her mom. The nanny didn’t honestly take very good care of her anymore. But, it was better since her friend was there.

A stream of guests continued to come and go by the house. Amanda really wanted to be popular in Emerald Isle. She wanted to have 10, no 20 best friends. She continued to invite at least one set of neighbors over every night and worked on making friends with them.

She made a very special friend when she met Will Turner. She’d thought her life was bad until she met him. He told her that both of his parents were dead and that he was trying to raise his two younger brothers with little help from his grandfathers. Daniel was Alyssa’s age. Amanda could only imagine how hard that was for a teenager. She was struggling enough with it, and she was an adult. Amanda offered that if Will ever needed someone to watch Daniel, she would be happy to watch him while he played with Alyssa.

Amanda really wanted a promotion. She was working as a Blog Writer, which had really bad hours. She worked 1-6 PM, which meant that she had no time to spend with Alyssa. She worked and worked at building her skills up enough to get a promotion. But, it was hard to balance keeping the house in decent shape, keeping up with her friends, and working for that promotion. Day after day she went to work sure she would get it, but day after day she came home without it.

Yet again, Alyssa was growing up without her. She was almost a teen now. How the time had flown. Amanda realized that if she wanted her daughter to live the type of life she wanted, she had to work on getting Alyssa into private school. Only then could she get accepted into the best college, and that time was approaching sooner than she realized. She called the headmaster of the most prestigious school in Emerald Isle. Unfortunately he could only meet with her at 5 PM, and that was definitely out with her job. Of course she could call in sick, but they needed the paycheck she brought home to pay the bills. If only she could get that promotion, then she could get Alyssa into private school and have more time to spend with her daughter. Amanda suddenly became obsessed. She worked at improving her job performance even more, but still she did not get the promotion.

Finally it was almost too late. She was going to have to make a desperate decision. “Alyssa,” she began to explain, “I’m going to invite the headmaster over tonight. We have got to get you into private school, and time is running out before you become a teen.”

“Are you going to stay home from work, then?” Alyssa asked.

“Baby, I can’t. You know I can’t. If I stay home I’ll ruin any chance I have of getting that promotion.”

“But, you have to work until 6, and he insists on coming at 5.”

“You’re just going to have to entertain him until I get her,” Amanda informed her of the plan.

“What?” Alyssa asked. Her mom couldn’t even be there for something this important? And how was she supposed to entertain a headmaster? She wasn’t outgoing like her mother, and she had no idea what interested headmasters.

“It’s only for an hour. Give him a tour of the house. I know we don’t have much, but he’ll expect that. It will keep him entertained for an hour.”

“What if he expects dinner first?” Alyssa asked.

“I’ll premake a dinner now and leave it in the fridge. If he asks for dinner first, you can pull it out and heat it up for him.”

“You expect me to serve the headmaster of the most prestigious school in Emerald Isle leftovers?” Alyssa asked incredulously.

“Well, with any luck he’ll be interested in the tour. That will give me time to get home and make him something fancier before he’s ready to eat anyway.”

The plan was set. Alyssa was rather worried about it; it left a lot of room for things to go wrong. But, she wanted to go to private school, too. If she had to entertain the headmaster herself . . . well, she was independent. She could do it.

Alyssa got home from school that day with an A+ report card. That would definitely impress the headmaster. She wanted to run and show it off to her mom, but of course her mom was at work. She didn’t even think the nanny would be excited for her, so she jumped up and down for herself on the sidewalk.

The headmaster arrived at exactly 5 PM as scheduled. Alyssa put on a brave mask and approached the man with confidence.

“Alyssa Cory, sir, pleased to meet you,” she introduced herself with a handshake.

“Ahh, yes I’m Vince, the headmaster of Emerald Isle Academy. So nice to meet you, Miss Cory. Now, where is your mother?” he asked.

“She not here, right now,” Alyssa explained.

“Not here?” the headmaster asked, quite perturbed. “I did inform her that I would only meet with her at 5 PM.”

“Yes, but unfortunately my mother has to work. However, I’d be happy to show you around, would you like a tour of my home?” Alyssa asked hopefully.

“Yes, yes, I would like a tour of your home, but you do realize that it is customary for the parent to give the tour, not the child.”

“Yes, I realize that,” Alyssa admitted. “There are a lot of things that it is customary for an adult to do that you just have to do yourself if you are the child of a single, working mom.” Alyssa hoped that she hadn’t offended him, but she was an honest person, and the truth was all that she could think of to say at that moment.

“Of course, then please begin the tour, Miss Cory.”
The tour went well. He wasn’t that impressed with their house, who would be, but Alyssa did manage to get some points out of it. The best part, though, was that he seemed to be impressed with her. She talked to him about school a lot, and the conversation seemed good. Talking about school was easy for her.

Amanda arrived home from work in time to learn a new recipe and get it cooked before she had to serve the headmaster dinner.

Right after eating the headmaster stood up. “I think I’ve seen enough here. Mrs. Cory, I am not at all impressed with you or your home . . .”

“Please reconsider,” Amanda interrupted him. She had to get Alyssa into private school, she just had to.

“I am NOT impressed with you,” he repeated, “but I am rather impressed with your daughter. Any little girl that can get an A+ report card and who can entertain a headmaster by herself when there is obviously no parental supervision in her life, well that is a very impressive little girl. Alyssa is welcome to attend my school. Congratulations, Miss Cory.”

Season Recap

1. Alyssa isn’t furious at Cameron anymore.

2. Amanda couldn’t manage to get a promotion.

3. Amanda continued to make several friends.

4. Alyssa got into private school.

Author’s Notes

I have no idea how Alyssa found out about Cameron and Tara. She must have heard about it from Evan or saw the date reward. Anyway, she was furious at Cameron. I find it really funny that I had to have her apologize to him to have them make up.

I’m really struggling with this family more than I should be. Amanda’s job hours are getting in the way, but I want to keep her in journalism. I have no idea why I couldn’t get her promoted when it’s easy for my other sims.
