In the last update—Amanda achieved her lifetime want of twenty simultaneous best friends. Amanda’s eldest daughter, Alyssa, left for college. Cameron took a career in the music industry. Amanda gave birth to her second child with Cameron, Rachel.

Season 7—Spring

“I have an announcement,” Amanda began at a family dinner party. “I don’t really know how to say this except to come out and say it, so . . . I’m pregnant again.”

“Mom, you’re going to have another baby?” Matthew asked.

Amanda nodded. She was worried how the family would take it. Matthew had just gone from being the baby to the older brother. What would he think of another baby?

“That’s cool, Mom. I get to be a big brother to two babies. I can help them out like Alyssa always helped me,” Matthew commented.

Amanda gave a sigh of relief until she realized that Cameron hadn’t said anything yet. After an awkward silence, Amanda felt compelled to discuss how she was accidentally pregnant for the fourth time in her life. “I . . . I didn’t think I needed to go back on the pill yet. I’m still pumping milk for Rachel. I thought . . .”

Cameron smiled. “I’m happy, Amanda, relax.” He felt a twinge of guilt as he realized that she was worried about his reaction. Of course her concern was justified. He was extremely grateful that Amanda had stopped him from running when Matthew was born. She’d known the right words to help him deal with his fears of being a father. If she hadn’t, he never would have known the joy of having a loving family. He would still be running from the pain of his childhood. It was ironic. Suffering through hell made him appreciate the heaven he had with his family now. He just had to make sure that Amanda knew that he wasn’t the same man anymore. He had cheated on her before; he’d been ready to run and leave her pregnant and helpless. She’d helped him overcome all of his fears and pain. Now, he would never leave his family. He loved providing for Matthew and Rachel. It made him so proud to know that he was actually fostering healthy children. He was a good father. What words could he possibly say to convey all of that? “My playboy days are over. I’m thrilled that we are adding another member to our family.”

It seemed that Amanda was actually the least happy about her being pregnant. It was really hard to care for Rachel with an enormous belly getting in the way. Amanda was tired all of the time, but she still had to get up in the middle of the night to care for Rachel. She couldn’t exactly tell the baby to let Mommy sleep-in in the morning.

Afternoon naps were out, too. Amanda had to have an after school snack ready for Matthew and had to help him with his homework.

Amanda was trying to allow Cameron more time to dedicate to his music career. However, it wasn’t working out for him. At a music competition, Cameron was faced with the decision of whether or not to sabotage a fellow contestant. Cameron chose not to do it; he wasn’t a cheater. Unfortunately, not everyone was that nice. Someone sabotaged Cameron, and he was fired from his job.

Cameron was devastated, but he wouldn’t give up. He started over in the music industry with a job as a roadie. It wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Cameron had enjoyed being a roadie. He got to do lots of crazy things. Before long he was quickly climbing the music charts and the music career ladder. As a bonus, he was still selling millions of albums to loyal fans. It helped that he had a great family to come home to, too.

As exhausted as she was, when Amanda realized that Matthew and Rachel were going to celebrate their birthdays on the same day, she knew she had to throw the biggest double birthday party Emerald Isle had ever seen. Tired and pregnant, Amanda was still a party girl at heart.

Matthew grew up well. He must have been spending a little bit too much time with his Uncle Gary, because Matthew chose fortune as his lifetime aspiration. He wanted to earn 100,000 simoleons. He would earn enough money to transform Cory Manor into the mansion it should be.

Rachel became a cute toddler. Although Matthew’s personality took more after his mother’s, Rachel’s personality mimicked her father’s. She was playful and nice.

Unfortunately, the party ended up a disaster and no one knew why. Having such a lousy birthday party really upset Amanda. She threw the best parties in town!

Amanda potty-trained Rachel right away. She refused to have two babies in diapers at the same time. It was hard enough already trying to care for a toddler while very, very pregnant.

Matthew started his quest to earn money right away. He was a serious sim, but his father’s musical talent had greatly influenced him. Matthew enjoyed painting and gardening for money. He also really wanted to get a job. Amanda and Cameron were against it. They knew that a job was a big responsibility. Balancing school, work, homework, and some level of a social life was practically impossible for a teen. But, Matthew was insistent. He really wanted a job at a law firm. So, eventually his parents acquiesced. Uncle Gary pulled some strings and got Matthew a job as a receptionist at his firm.

Luckily, Matthew was there when Amanda went into labor. Cameron was at work. “Matthew, you’ve got to get me to the hospital,” Amanda cried with pain.

“Mom, you realize I don’t actually have my driver’s license yet?” Matthew reminded her.

“Matthew, get the car now!” Amanda screamed. She was not having the baby at home, and she couldn’t wait for a cab.

Amanda brought home her little boy, Sandy, to a houseful of family a few days later. Ethan, Gary and Regina’s son, was very excited about having a new male cousin.

Things were looking up for the Corys again. Amanda achieved an impossible want of having 30 simultaneous best friends.

Both Cameron and Matthew got promotions at work. Cameron was promoted to Symphony Conductor, and Matthew was promoted to Legal Secretary at his Uncle Gary’s law firm.

Season Recap

Author’s Notes

Matthew is quickly turning into one of my favorite sims. He’s just so cute. Unfortunately, Rachel doesn’t look as cute. We’ll have to see how she ends up as a child and older.

I realize Sandy is an odd name for a boy. But, all of the sims in this house are named after characters from the soap opera, Another World. Sandy was Amanda’s half-brother.
