In the last update—Daniel and Ashlee got married, purchased a farm, and started an animal shelter. Daniel reached the top of the education career while Ashlee opened an organic grocery store featuring her home grown produce.

Season 8—Summer

Since Osiris was old enough to be adopted now, Ashlee and Daniel turned him back over to the city. It was devastating for Daniel. He knew if he wanted to keep rescuing kittens he had to eventually give up the grown cats, but he had grown too attached to Osiris. Daniel vowed from then on that he was only going to give his pets up to homes he already knew had loving families. Rachel volunteered to take in any animals that Daniel couldn’t find another home for.

Both of Daniel’s brothers had children now. Daniel loved his nephews. He had Harry and Severus and even their friends over for dinner quite often. The boys loved hanging out with Uncle Daniel. Daniel couldn’t wait until Klaus’ son, David, was old enough to visit.

Despite the abundance of extended family he had, Daniel really wanted children of his own. It was going to be hard to do all that he wanted. He and Ashlee still wanted to run the animal shelter to capacity and they wanted to continuing working on their farm and grocery store, but they both really wanted a baby. They decided to try for one.

Ashlee continued to check the want ads daily. She was working as a Jazzercise instructor, but she still dreamed of being a chef someday. She really enjoyed cooking. Finally one day she found a job posting for a chef. Getting the position was a long shot since Ashlee had no previous experience, but she decided to apply anyway. To her great relief, she was hired, but the restaurant wouldn’t actually open for a few years. That was okay with her. Ashlee was relatively certain that she was pregnant. A few years off would give her time to have and raise the baby, but this job also gave her the promise of a culinary career in the future.

Maxx, Molly, Aya, and Schu all grew up into adult pets. They were beautiful, but Ashlee and Daniel knew that they couldn’t keep them. As promised, Rachel took Maxx and Molly when they couldn’t find good homes looking for a dog. Daniel did find a home for both Aya and Schu with the Corys, though. He was relieved to know they were going to a good home.

With a bit more room in the shelter, Ashlee and Daniel decided to take in another dog, Taki.

Daniel had been working on writing a novel in his free time. It sounded silly, but Daniel was a very creative sim. He knew a lot about the mythology of many different cultures. Those stories inspired a lot of fantastical dreams, which Daniel turned into a novel. He worked on it a few hours every night. When it was finally finished, Daniel was astonished to find someone willing to publish his novel, Stargate SG-1. What was even more surprising was that it sold like hot cakes. People loved the story of a team traveling through a gate to different cultures. Daniel was suddenly a famous author and a much richer sim.

The money was going to come in handy, because Ashlee was definitely pregnant. She was far enough along that she could feel the baby kick occasionally.

Nagi also grew-up into a cat. He was so adorable; Daniel couldn’t put him up for adoption. Nagi was Daniel’s first cat’s, Liebe’s, youngest kitten. Daniel just couldn’t give him to anyone else. It had been hard enough to let his nephew Harry keep Liebe. Nagi was definitely staying with Daniel. That was a good thing, too, because Daniel had a sneaking suspicion that Nepthys was pregnant with Nagi’s kittens.

Ashlee, being the nature-loving sim that she was, decided that she didn’t want to have her baby in a hospital. She wanted to give birth in a natural setting, and went into labor in her own garden. She had a little girl.

“Let’s name her Samantha,” Daniel suggested.

“Like the character in your book?” Ashlee asked.

“Yeah, is that okay with you? I mean she is smart and beautiful, like I’m sure our daughter will be,” Daniel explained.

It was decided. Their daughter was christened Samantha Turner.

Author’s Notes

Raising the puppies and kittens has been pretty fun so far. I like watching them grow-up. I only wish that you could tell a little bit more what they might look like when they grow-up when they are little. Nagi was definitely the cutest of Siren and Liebe’s kittens, so I decided to breed him with Nephthys. Adopting kittens and puppies is a faster way to meet the goal, but I think Daniel would want to breed Nagi.

  1. It's nice to see all the kittens and puppies. LOL-ing at Stargate! A little girl! Aww, I wanna see her up close. Congrats on working so quickly.

  2. I like that want, too, although I haven't completed it. I hear you on the puppies/kittens appearance, though--I had a naming theme going in mine, all kinds of candy--but Licorice grew up to be brown and white! Yikes!
