The Werewolves of Baton Rouge—Amber Round 7

This is the main legacy house. My founder Jessie Winchester had six children, and the heir is the youngest, Amber Winchester Cormier. Amber is married to Rene Cormier, a football player that wants to become a chess champion to improve his football strategy, and they have a little boy, Daniel. Still living in the main legacy house is Amber’s brother Toby, Toby’s wife Allyson, and their son Christopher. The legacy house has a terrific garden, and Toby is staying for the time being to maintain it. He’s growing several perfect plants, and we’re close to having perfect types of all plants.

Ghost sighting! It’s Morgana. I love the ghosts in Sims 3. Awww, isn’t this the cutest thing ever? Apparently ghost grandma makes a good babysitter. Daniel doesn’t look scared at all. He looks really happy. What I think happened is that Morgana’s ghost woke up baby Daniel, but then since Morgana was a family sim and there was a baby crying in the room she was in, she picked him and played with him. Awww!

We need some more adorable toddler pictures. The boys are messy. I think they leave more toys out than we had when I had triplet toddlers and a child in the house.

Both couples want another child, so you know what that means.

Daniel and Christopher share a birthday party. One of my favorite things is to see all of my sims at a huge birthday party. Aunts and uncles and cousins, everyone is all together. And it’s a great occasion to get pictures of the adult siblings together.

Oh no! He looks … um really bad. Christopher is supposed to be a hot vampire someday. He was such a cute toddler too. Interestingly he looks nothing like cousin Tommy, when they looked like identical toddlers. I think it’s that he inherited Allyson’s big body. I’ve toned Allyson up a lot since she aged up. She’s still a big woman, which I love, but I toned her body up a little, and I think she looks great now. Hopefully I can get Christopher working out a little, okay a lot, and he’ll look better.

Note to self—don’t try to wake up an exhausted toddler and age him up at a party. Nobody likes a screaming birthday boy.

Lifetime want—Reach the top of the sports career

Daniel rolled this lifetime want really quickly. I know I already have a sim doing this lifetime want (Alcide), and I’m trying to do all the lifetime wants, but this is so Daniel from my roleplay. In the roleplay he’s a football player from LSU, and football and his family are all that he cares about. So I’m going to let him have his wish. The fact that he rolled it right away sealed the deal for me.

Oh, another note to self, don’t age up a toddler about to mess his diaper. It leads to a child with a wetting himself problem. Poor Daniel wet himself at his party. He was soooo embarrassed! There was a bedwetting hack from sims 2 that if you didn’t potty train your toddler they’d have occasional accidents. So maybe that’s what’s happened with poor Daniel. He has a bedwetting problem. Aww. In the roleplay he’s adopted and from an abusive family, so maybe that’s why he has some wetting himself problems. No worries here. Mommy Amber and Daddy Rene will understand and help him clean it up. And snuggle him.

Looks like it’s almost baby time. Amber looks so pretty pregnant.

Alex Cormier

In my roleplay Alex is Daniel’s real baby brother. Rene and Amber adopted both of them. Alex is really sensitive, and having grown up abused, he’s always afraid and worried about things. So I thought it might be interesting to have a neurotic sim. We’ll see how that goes. My goal with the traits is to keep them true to character, not whatever’s easiest. It says “Neurotic sims will freak out at the most minor of provocations. They become stressed easily and are difficult to mellow. Luckily they take solace in sharing their worries with others.” Yep, that’s Alex.

Rene was so happy to get to hold his son. I love my proud papas.

Christopher has been working out until exhausted every single day and eating a very strict diet. I really think he’s starting to look a lot better, although he is falling behind in his logic and other skills compared to his cousin. I really think it’s dumb children can’t learn athletic skill. But look, he looks kind of cute here, doesn’t he?

Babies age up soooo quickly! I think I’d have liked to have left them babies longer, because they’re so adorable, but I was dying to see what they were going to look like. So, party time!

He’s such a cutie, he gets two close-up pictures here. He did naturally inherit Jessie’s hair color. Note that he inherited Morgana’s eyes, which Amber does not have.

I absolutely adore how Alex looks. He looks almost like real roleplay Alex. But I’m considering if I want to let Amber and Rene have a third child. I wanted just the two, but neither of their children got Rene’s hair or eye color, and I kind of wanted a bit of Rene’s genetics inherited too. I keep trying to remind myself that Daniel or Alex’s children could still inherit genetics from Rene. Still …. want to see a bit of Rene in one of the children.

Isn’t she beautiful? Side note, she inherited Allyson’s original hair color. That brown that has kind of weird blond highlights that has this greenish tone to it? Eww. I was going to just switch her over to Allyson’s current color, but I decided to make a new version of that color. I took the same base but added some prettier golden blond type highlights. I think it’s pretty. And I guess in sims 3 if the child inherits a color like that that it isn’t from the mom’s current color it’s actually inherited from her grandparents? So the grandparents’ hair could be this color. I wanted it lighter and I like this, so we’re calling this Grandma Dubose’s color. Also she’s another child that inherited Grandma Morgana’s blue eyes. Toby doesn’t have those eyes either. Interesting!

Rita can have two pictures too. Awww, these pajamas are so adorable when you make the sleeves match the body and put on the matching socks. Looks like something a baby would really wear.

So, let’s see, career accomplishments and progress toward lifetime wants this round:

Amber reached level ten writing skill. Since she’d achieved level ten painting skill the previous round, this accomplishes her lifetime want of Illustrious Author. She’s making good progress in the actual writing career, she’s a Work for Hire Wordsmith. She’s writing all of the Sookie Stackhouse novels as romance novels in order. So far she’s written Dead Until Dark, Dead in Dallas, Club Dead, and Dead to the World. She’s really bringing in the royalties. She completed the Speed Writer Skill Challenge.

Toby also achieved his lifetime want of becoming a Creature-Robot Cross Breeder, which oddly is not level 10 but rather level 9 of the science career.

Rene is still really struggling. That’s actually true to character. In my roleplay Rene is dyslexic and has trouble reading, but went to college and worked really hard because he loved football. So my Sims Rene is struggling with learning strategy like he wants, but he’s working so very hard. Very Rene. My biggest problem is that it seems the next ranked chess opponent is always busy and won’t come over. That and I do keep getting distracted having him work for his career and his lifetime want. Anyway, here’s an adorable picture of Daniel and Rene playing chess.

The closing picture for this round: Jessie and Morgana’s graves. They look so pretty and peaceful in the backyard, and it reminds me of where this challenge started. Eventually I’m going to have to let this current round of adults become elders and pass away. Knowing they live on in the game as ghosts is comforting, but I want to keep them young and pretty forever. I care about them all so much, that’s going to be hard.

I still miss you, Jessie! But I love your little visits.
