Welcome to my Sims 3 Legacy Blog. First, a little about this blog. I’ve blogged before, and I really love telling stories, but I’ve found that I spend so very much time blogging that I hardly have any time to play at all. For this blog, I’m mostly just going to show pictures of my game and family and talk a little bit about what’s going on. It’s for me to remember and document my game, but I hope you enjoy seeing my families too.
Next, you should know a little bit about how I’m playing. I’ve written an extensive story full of characters in role-play with a friend. It’s very loosely based in the True Blood world. There are werewolves, vampires, fairies, etc. All the characters have backstories, personalities, romances, and drama that I’ve played. In my game I’m starting this legacy with one of my favorite role-play characters, Jessie Winchester. He’s a werewolf. His children will be named after other characters from my roleplay, other supes, and so will their children.
I’m playing the Legacy Challenge, but I’m making it my own. It’s supposed to be fun, right? I am rolling for character traits like the challenge specifies, but I reserve the right to veto a trait if it’s completely opposite the character’s personality from role play. I’ve added in an additional chance that the sim will inherit a trait from a list I’ve designated as werewolf or vampire traits. I may occasionally pick a trait to make the sim more like the character if needed. Since some characters have good personalities and some have difficult personalities, this isn’t actually an advantage. I will be playing all the children, not just the heirs. I’m using awesomemod to do this. I’m messing around with aging to try to figure out how to get it to work the way I want.
Personal goals--
- Get a sim to the top of all of the careers, including all branches
- Fulfill the lifetime want of all sims, including spouses (okay to use lifetime reward to change spouses)
- Accomplish all unique lifetime wants
- Complete each skill challenge available at least once
- Play as realistically as possible—birthday parties for all birthdays, formal weddings for all weddings, eat meals as a family
- Stay consistent with role-play characterization
Time to meet our Founder!
This is Jessie Winchester. The ‘played by’ actor I use for him in role-play is on the right so you can compare. Jessie has custom brown hair by me and beautiful hazel-green eyes. He’s a werewolf that was abjured (disowned) by his pack. He was homeless for a long time. Then finally he was given a position in security guarding the casino home of the vampire sheriff of area 4. He’s the perfect starter for my Legacy because he is going to start out living homeless.

LTW—Reach Top of Military Career.
Jessie is a werewolf guard for a vampire that eventually ends up being queen; it’s sort-of like being in the military. That fits well with his traits, so we decide to start Jessie out in the Military career. Jessie is very athletic and buff, so the first thing I have him do is hit the gym. He’s basically going to be living out of the gym for food and showers at first anyway, since he’s homeless.
While there, Jessie meets a girl—Morgana Wolff. Wolff! She’s a werewolf too! He HAS to marry this girl!
Unfortunately while talking to her he learns that she is already married. Before he breaks down and cries over a broken heart, Morgana also tells him that her husband is very mean to her. He doesn’t want children, and that’s very important to her. He doesn’t like art, and that’s important to her too. Jessie is a good listener, and Morgana begins to open up. Finally she confides that her husband beats her, and Jessie insists that she leave him. She agrees since she has Jessie’s protection now.
Here’s a close-up of Morgana:

LTW—Raise Five Children from Baby to Teen
Jessie and Morgana get married in a beautiful ceremony up on a hill at sunset. This lot will eventually be the site of their home, but it’s still a completely empty lot right now.
Marrying Morgana brings in $6,000, not bad! We might be able to afford a few walls now. Hmm, I’ll check her backpack inventory to see if there’s anything useful there. I know in sims 2 there sometimes was. Hey, she has a car in there. Cool, maybe we can sell that for a few things. How much is her car worth? OMG! Her car is worth $85,000!!!! Well that’s going to pay for a nice house!
Note—I know founders are not allowed to marry rich sims, but Jessie never learned that she was rich. It never showed up in his info panel on her. I didn’t know it. He married her because of her name. So, I’m letting them keep the money.
Honeymoon time!
Jessie and Morgana are pretty happy. Morgana was in the medical career, but that didn’t seem very consistent with her lifetime want, so I had her quit her job. She likes painting, so I had her get a job in law enforcement with the plan to put her in the forensics branch eventually. She can make money while on maternity leave and working on her painting skill will help with her career in the long run. Jessie spends all his free time running back and forth to work at the military base. It takes him a long time, but he enjoys it. It helps with his stress, and he loves being outside.
Morgana’s pregnant. Great, that must closer to Morgana’s lifetime want, and this could potentially be our first heir.

Baby number one is born. Meet Matty Winchester!

And time for baby number two
Jessie and Morgana bring home their second son, Toby Winchester. In the picture is their babysitter. Yeah. Would you leave your children with this man? Creepy! He looks like a child molester, just saying.

Matty has a birthday and becomes a child so that Toby can have the crib.

And this means Matty will need a bedroom. Time to build a second story to the legacy house.
Birthdays come quickly with babies. Time for Toby to be a toddler.

Somehow I don’t have pictures of this pregnancy, but here comes baby number three. Another boy. This is Alcide Winchester. Morgana doesn’t seem too happy about having another boy.

Matty really, really loves fishing. He gets a want for his lifetime want to be present the perfect aquarium, so I grant it. It fits with his loves the outdoors, and I’ve wanted to play more with the fishing in the game.
Here’s some more pictures of adorable Toby. His loner personality is just the cutest thing ever. He’s really growing on me.

Here’s some pictures of the boys together to compare for picking an heir.
That’s it for post one. Which boy do you like better: Matty or Toby? Or maybe neither and I should make it Alcide (yes, Alcide from True Blood)?
I would play it the very same way. choose the trait that best fits my sim for my story. The first two boys look alot alike. Heh, yeah, mamma didn't look happy about having three boys in a row. Interesting concept...wolf family!
ReplyDeleteI vote for Alcide (green sweater, right). Matty just has an evil look in most pics.
ReplyDeleteToby! He looks like his dad
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I am totally an RPer too, or was before I got hooked on sims. I kind of went from one addiction to another because I always wrote private story lines or sometimes in a community, and when other people are involved, it sometimes gets too demanding for me to be able to keep up with. My simmies just sit patiently and wait for me to get to them when I can. :) Looking forward to reading this challenge and to having you back! Don't have a favorite for heir yet...I'll have to read more about them. :)
